Kaido had decided to go on another expedition, seeing as he didn’t have to worry about his daughter. He wore a hoodie and thicker jeans, just to make sure his skin was protected. He wore hiking boots to protect his feet from the tougher terrain of the woods.

His hair was messy underneath his hat and he looked around at the scenery. He was looking for signs of a more elusive, yet supposedly extinct group of people. He wasn’t necessarily expecting to find anything, but it helped deal with the empty nest syndrome.

Pro pho tip: knuckle bones are best for making broth. And yellow rock sugar, not table sugar. Most importantly, char the onion and ginger. Adds more flavor

I’ve seen the pointers about knuckle bones and charring the ginger and onion, but I never saw anyone mention sugar. Is sugar used very often in pho?

Veronica was busy packing her bag with the assistance of Jace for an upcoming business trip she was due to leave in just a few hours. “I am really going to miss you when I’m gone, Jace. I’m going to be so lonely at night without you.”

It was a little irritating for them at first when their feet started to itch and it was harder to deal with the itching through their boots. Why did people even insist on them wearing boots most the time. They were annoying to begin with without the itching!

Eventually they pulled off their boots and tossed away the socks. When that didn’t help they collected near a half bucket full of clay and headed to the kitchen for the herbs and supplies they’d need to deal with the itching, not really thinking at the time that one elf or another had been responsible for it, rather just blaming the boots and poor sock material.

Michelle had woken up in Mission Grove Park, not remembering having gone there or, in fact, anything at all of what she was doing before she, apparently, took a nap in the park. Not looking forward to whatever reaction her parents would have when she went home, the eight-year-old wandered around aimlessly for almost a half hour before realizing she actually didn’t recognize the park around her. Some things looked familiar, but the landmarks were all wrong, the Shape wasn’t where it was supposed to -- maybe she didn’t actually know where she was? After a few seconds of consideration, she went up to the first person she saw, trying to look as mature and grown-up as she could manage. “Um, excuse me? I think I’m lost, can you help?”
