Atmosfear // Nightmare (1991-1994)
Nightmare IV: Vampire (1994)
Nightmare time :3
The world burns like a candle, slow and controlled. The fire is artificial, but the blood seeping from your lungs definitely isn’t.
You feel yourself getting colder, but your own flame never quite burns out. There’s sobbing, in the distance. You don’t think you’ve ever heard her cry…you close your eyes, yet your flame burns on. Unceasing. You say your last goodbyes in your mind, but the end never comes. Someone places a blanket over you. The sobbing fades out. Your candle burns on.
>>All he could hear was the crackling of fire and the ringing in his ears.
>>He awoke in a cold sweat.
>>He didn't jolt awake or sit up, he was too tired. Every single time he's tried to sleep, without fail, he had a nightmare and his rest was cut short.
>>He turned over in his bed, hugging a pillow and wiping away the tears threatening to spill from his eyes.
>>...He noticed a small bag in the corner of his room. Right. He forgot about that..
>>He had one more gift left to give, didn't he?
>>...
>>He sat up before he could drift off to sleep again, despite his exhaustion.
>>He didn't want to have another nightmare.
Nightmare IV: Vampire (1994)
It’s all in the mind.
"Marie..?"
She lay motionless in their bed, the duvet tucked tightly around her. She seemed so calm... so serene... so happy. Jack stood next to the bed, hands in his pockets, silently watching her, a smile on his face. 'Why am I standing..?' he asked in a faraway voice.. it doesn't even sound as if it's his. 'I love you...'
"Jack..." She stirred, pushing the duvet down, her face skewed into a grimace. That's when he saw it... the blood. Staining their sheets, her nightgown, her hands... everywhere. 'Marie-!' But he couldn't move- he couldn't move anything... his hands, his feet... his eyes. He couldn't look away. 'Marie..' he pleaded, '..wake up.. please wake up-' But she just tossed and turned, the blood spreading... seeping onto the ground, into the floorboards. "Jack... help me-" 'I can't...!' He was frozen.. some unseen force was holding his body back... keeping him from her... invisible bindings... invisible ropes. 'I can't!' He felt tears streak down his cheeks, unable to wipe them away they fell freely to the floor- red tears- bloody tears- helpless tears... "Jack please-" Her body seized and shook, she clawed at her eyes, ripped her hair, shred her nightgown to pieces... caked in blood.
'I can't...'
He awoke suddenly, the smell of their bedroom returning to him... his and Sarahs bedroom. He had his arm around her, his head buried into the pillow... He pulled her in closer, staring down at her shoulder as he rested his chin upon it, praying that sleep would elude him once more...
