A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
>>It was the same scenery once more, the red ocean.
>>Except, this time, Mercury couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't alone. His walking turned into running as his anxiety rose, and some part of him knew, deep down, that he was no longer safe.
>>He could hear muffled conversations, ones that he couldn't make out properly. They got louder, but the words were indistinguishable, unable to be processed as Mercury ran.
>>[BANG]. The horrible sound rang out, sending ripples through the ocean.
>>The pain was sudden, quick, and excruciating. Mercury gasped, tripping. He fell, feeling the splash of the blood he fell into right before he woke up.
>>He didn't realize he was grabbing at his chest when he woke up, too busy catching his breath and staring at the ceiling in a cold sweat. After a few seconds, his breathing steadied, and he let his hands fall to his sides. A numb, lingering pain would not leave him.
>>His head slowly tilted as he turned to look at the clock.
>>Four hours.
>>Four hours is the amount of sleep he got. He couldn't go back to sleep, though; not so soon, not after that.
>>He sat up, but didn't stand for a long while, staring at the floor. Eventually, he found the strength to get up, and leave his room. The sun wasn't even rising yet, and the hallway he stood in was engulfed in darkness.
>>He was alone.
