Why do the cards like Nightscape Familiar only reduce the cost of the appropriate multicolored cards by 1 instead of 2?
Because the cost reduction is a single ability that reduces the cost of any spell that is red and/or blue. It doesn’t care if the spell is both colors or just one of them.
To reduce the cost of a red and blue spell, Nightscape Familiar would need two separate abilities, similar to how Grand Arbiter Augustin IV is templated.
