without a second thought, she grabbed his cheek and pulled him in close.  kissing him gently as the weight seemed to lift off of her shoulders.  lips lingering, she kept her hand on his cheek as she pulled away slowly.  taking only a moment she looked up at his bright blue eyes and half smiled at him.  “you have me completely wrapped around your finger… how did you manage that exactly? not just anyone can get my undivided attention like this, hunk wonder.” not giving him any time to react she pressed her lips against his once more.

MONTHS. IT HAD BEEN MONTHS since anyone had even HEARD the name nightwing. kaldur realized everyone needed their own time to MOURN the death as significant as wally west — but not even artemis completely CUT TIES with everyone. everyone WORRIED for him; being reserved wasn't unlike dick. there were times everyone needed to be alone. but not like this. the moment kaldur was aware of where his old friend was, he KNEW he had to see him for himself.

― * ✧      she wasn’t mad - but she was annoyed. there was a feeling of unease settling in her stomach as she watched dick from the couch. he had lied to her - for m o n t h s. let her believe that he was normal - that there was nothing strange or extravagant about dick grayson than just being the adopted son of a billionaire. “ - all those times ... you were the one saving me. ” she almost snorted. “ i’m not mad, dick. i just wished you didn’t keep it a - a secret for so long. ” the blonde almost felt like it was ONE part of his life he didn’t WANT her a part of. maybe it was for the best.

talk about a culture shock. earth wasn’t exactly what kara expected,  with their languages and fashion and animals.  kal - el wasn’t exactly what she expected,  either,  with his height and strength and age.   (  her mission was to protect him ;  how could she do that now?  he isn’t a baby --- what was she supposed to do on earth?   )   it seemed that kal - el  ------ clark ------ had that figured out for her.

 lip is caught between her teeth.  fingers idly twiddle with the hems of her sleeved shirt in attempt to steady herself.  kara isn’t sure what she needs is to be introduced to a rag - tag team of teens,  but then again,  she isn’t sure what her purpose is on earth anymore.  at least being a part of something could help her fit in among humans.  longing gaze is cast in the direction where kal had left,  her introduction still hanging in the air.   “ i ----- i’m kara. ”
