🎶 – it was only recently that the small Gem had gotten up the courage to go out & talk to the humans who populated the surrounding areas. most of them were surprisingly nonchalant as to his presence, waving or smiling at him as they seemed to do with other humans. one or two had asked him if he was a friend of ‘ Steven’s weird sisters ’, but that flew right over his head. he had no idea who Steven was, nor did he know who the other’s sisters were.

it was strange, but he was accepted in a way or another. the people in this town didn’t actively seek him out ( he was pretty good at hiding ), nor did they treat him unkindly when he approached them. he was simply... there.

today was a day for risks. Benitoite was sitting obscured by a bush, with only his head poking out. he’d gotten some laughs from Kiki ( one of the younger humans whose family ran a business here ), & had his picture taken by Ronaldo ( he was older than Kiki, a little preoccupied but nice enough ), so now he was just sitting. a few people he didn’t recognize had passed by, & now was the time to reach out to a stranger.
