at  first,  she  swears  she’s  dreaming.  but  whether  it’s  a  dream  or  a   n i g h t m a r e   is  still  open  to  interpretation.  he’s  looming  over  her.  and  she  wonders,  for  a  moment,  why  this  memory ?  are  you  going  to  kill  me ?   words  are  on  the  tip  of  her  tongue.  lashes  fluttering  open  as  she  looks  up  at  him.  but  he’s  different.  minutely  so,  but  different  all  the  same.  hair  longer.  face  narrower.  older  somehow,  and  yet  he  doesn’t  age.   ❝ are  you  really  here ? ❞  mumbled  words.  slurred  from  exhaustion.  she  can’t   remember  the  last  time  she  slept.  eyes  burn  from  crying.  he  answers.  and  through  the  haze  of  exhaustion,  she  swears  she  almost  thinks  she  sees  him  move  away.  but  before  he  can,  her  hand  shoots  out,  fingers  curling  around  his  wrist.   ❝ stay.  please. ❞
