This Comet tank has been rusting for many years and lies half buried in the Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve on the North Lincolnshire coast. This area of the country can be bracing to say the least on a windy and fresh day in autumn. I visited on such a day and managed to get some nice photographs using just a Nikon P6000 compact camera and then stopped for a cup of tea in the sand dunes. The Comet tank was used by the British Army from the end of World War II until 1958 - although other countries used it right up until the 1980s. It is probable that this tank was used for target practice by the RAF.
