There are parallels between dystopian novels like Hunger games, and what's happening right now. There are parallels between Harry Potter, and what's happening right now. But it is absolutely not fucking appropriate to apply these fandoms in a post to Ferguson. ESPECIALLY after multiple people have pointed out that that it is not fucking okay. That is just fucked up. It's disrespectful. This is not a book. This is not a movie. This is not a game. People are dying. Show some fucking respect.

Fellow white people, All our lives we’re told that it’s all about us. That our voices are what matter the most. For once in our lives, we need to take a step back and shut the fuck up. “All lives matter”?? No shit. All lives are important. But it’s not white lives that are being murdered and tear gassed in the streets. It is not white children that are being murdered by police. It is not white lives that are being destroyed every day by a systematic opression that’s been in place for so many years. No. It is black lives. So for fuck’s sake take the focus off of yourself for once in our lives. This is about a tragedy. Children are dead. Black children. NOT white children. Black people are dead, NOT white people. Do not forget Ferguson, and do what you can to help. Do everything possible to raise awareness and bring that disgusting murderer to justice, but do not overshadow the voices of the those who are truly affected by this. Those who live their lives in fear everyday of their children sharing the same fate as Mike Brown. Of themselves sharing the same fate as Mike Brown. Stop all of this bullshit with “All lives matter”. STOP trying to make this about white people. Just stop. This is not about us.

I may or may not be "alone" for the rest of my life. In the sense that I may not find the one true love I thought I would find. I may not have that special person who, no matter what happens, everything is okay as long as I have them. That's okay because I don't feel alone without that. I have a ton of people who love me. I will always have people who love me. I will always have great friends. And I will always have myself. No matter what happens I will always be there for myself.
