Feeling proud of myself because for the first time in over two years, when I introduced myself to new people, I did not quantify myself as ‘being toxic/emotionally abusive’ as I had been doing for years. Baby steps, but steps to healing nonetheless. Thanks for the emotional support, dear mutuals 💜

I just checked the actual law to prove a point on the heated monologue I was having in my head about how dystopic hellhole USA is, and that regular people in Panem probably thought their life in all of its gruesomness was normal and fine. The law I checked was about elections and voting. Did you know, that in Finland, you don't have to register to vote? (I knew, and it wasn't the thing I had to look up) Or that you can either vote on the actual election day, which often is weekend I think, OR you can vote prior to that on pre-elections? Or that if you can't get to either for some very serious reason, the election official can even come to your home?

The point I HAD to check, was about how people in jails vote. And yes, they can, because, as it turns out, all the jails in Finland are pre-election sites (and in case you are wondering, so are hospitals).

So, there. That was the point of this rambly and somewhat incoherent post. My country is very dedicated that every one of it's citizens of voting age, is able to to vote.

Week two ideas...

Hey girls!

Actually, I just completed the fandom part of our challenge. (I think each of us can do it?) I had a few fic ideas, thought I could run you girls by them?

For the meta, I thought I’d choose Baahu’s Dandalyya or Heysa Rudrasaa scene? (If any of you are choosing it, please tell me?)

For the art, I wanted to make the Kalakeya kingdom. (Thanks to @carminavulcana, I want to do something Kalakeya related)

For the fic, I wanted to write about legends, in Kuntala, Mahishmati and Kalakeya. 

This time, I don’t think I’ll be able to do two art pieces, so I’ll compensate for it by adding another fic?

All right, just curious: what do desi non-medicos think of doctors’ work hours? As in, what do you think they would be? Do you/did you think doctors have a lot of free time?

(I’m genuinely curious, because…the reactions I’ve gotten from people I know to my schedule seem like they imagined vastly different than the reality).

Watched Do Patti. Masterfully acted, fresh movie, but…not for me. Life is bad enough without beloved fictional escapes being grittier and more realistic. *opens Star Mahabharat 2013 again*

Internship is best summed up by this line from a timeless Dickens classic:

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…

Indeed, it was. Bidding adieu to a memorable year, filled with moments sweet and bitter, memorable days for the better and worse, and people I was privileged to meet, some who I would miss dearly, some who were and are close to my heart, and some who I am gladder to have left behind in my past than they were to see the back of me.

Hopefully the end of one journey and the beginning of another, this time with the epithet of my childhood dreams attached firmly to my name, that priceless “Dr.”

All the love in the world for fathers being sweetly, innocently, wholeheartedly fathers.

Fathers who ask their college-age daughters “how did school-I mean college, go today?” Fathers who need to be reminded that no, dad, your little girl is growing up. She’s on duty, not in school.

Fathers who laugh. Fathers who hug. Fathers for whom, his little girl is always his little girl, no matter what.

For my father, my first and best hero. And fathers like him.

Something has to be said about the soothing nature of spiritual music. Perhaps it bears some research to be done into it. Because speaking from experience Achyutam Keshavam and Om Jai Jagdish Hare help me reduce migraine pain even when medicines do not work.
