She didn’t expect the letter to come as it did nor did she expect any letters in general to have arrived. Never once had she gotten bad news in the run of a month as she had received during this one. Before this, it had been news about Vel’adir and his deteriorating condition and now….Nilani.
The very hasty written words stilled her heart and instantly her hand found her mouth to cease the sharp inhale she had taken, her eyes brimmed with emotion only to allow her hues to scan over the parchment once more.
She was unsure if she had time or if she could make it before the woman had took her final breath but she had to atleast try. Certainly the Starsworns had a medic on hand or had already reached out for assistance. She wasn’t positive but she wasn’t about to bank on that as reassurance.
The Priestess pulled from her study and passed Silvia in the hall while she handed off the small letter, “ Going so soon, you just returned?” The Priestess gave a nod to Silvia’s question and she hurried down the staircase, “ Don’t expect me to return soon, I have something to tend to. If my parents ask tell them where I have gone.” And in a hurry she plucked her cloak from the rack.
“ But….where is it you’re going exactl--” Silvia blinked as the door had shut as she loomed over the railing, the note in hand and Kaevia gone. It was then that her eyes read over the small note and two sentences and it was then that she knew where the Sun’rael had run off to.
“ Gods be good...” The older woman expelled through a gentle, trembled breath.
