2. describe the last scene you read in as few words as possible. no character names or titles.
a young man finds out that the strange bookstore where he works has strange books in code (shocker, right?)
4. quick, you’re in desperate need of a fake name. what character name do you think of first?
12. tell one book story or memory (what you were wearing when you were reading something, someone saw you cry in public, you threw a book across the room and broke a window, etc.)
i vividly remember reading the elegance of the hedgehog. (perhaps predictable since it’s my favorite novel.) it was spring break and i had been cooped up reading all day, so after dinner i went up to my room and opened the windows to let some air in as i settled in to finish the novel. i left all of the lights off but the one lamp by my bed. there was a strong breeze coming through the window. i remember just as i got to “and then, a summer rain” in the book, there was a clap of thunder and it started pouring outside. which, like, is a little insane in terms of timing. but it just rained the whole way through the rest of my reading and my room was filled with that wet earthy scent (petrichor) from the warm rain outside. i think i still regard it as my favorite reading experience. it was really wonderful.
20. a character you like but really, really shouldn’t.
i honestly can’t even think of an answer to this
