*leaves dead woodland creatures at your feet with no context behind the action whatsoever aside from the fact that he might be imitating a cat trying to impress you*
A slow blink.
Honestly, that’s about all that she can manage. Kelly is a light sleeper -- the barest noise out of the norm is more than enough to wake her up, and she has rather incredible hearing besides that. So waking up to an assortment of (what she assumes to be) animals set to be skinned for food -- well, colour her surprised that Nil was able to accomplish all of this without waking her up. It’s not that she doubts him or his abilities; she actually is quite confident in him, but that doesn’t mean that she wouldn’t think even he would wake her up with all the noise, let alone be able to pile them up at her feet.
If it was a reprimand for not hunting as often as he, point taken.
If it was his way of passing off the rest of the work to her, understood.
But with the way Nil loomed in the corner of her vision, his gaze fixated on her and carefully watching every twitch she made -- she can say (with confidence) that those scenarios were rather unlikely. It seemed more like he was searching for approval, or attempting to .. impress her?
Odd.
She blinks once more before heaving a sigh and hefting herself up to her feet. She had fallen asleep against the trunk of a tree, and small chunks of bark and grit had fallen into the folds of her armour while she slept. Kelly dusts herself off now, quietly, staring at her legs as she takes a moment to consider what any of this .. bizarre gesture could possibly mean. Then again, knowing Nil, it’s likely that it could mean nothing at all. She doesn’t look at him again, and instead takes hold of one of the hares and pulls out her hunting knife, and sets to preparing it.
He should be used to her silence by now.
