and everything to do 

with our imaginary hearts.

She Will Never Know Me

My heart hides

whenever Mother tells me

that in her eyes

I have no life experiences. 

Where was she -

when boys called me pizza face?

when I pinched my stomach, measured my access fat?

when my friends stopped replying my text messages?

when I thought I was going to lose my right eye?

when I first saw Snow Patrol live?

when my father left?

Where was she 

when the boy I loved

left me

because I was not as sexy as

his nightclub girls? 

This was the only time

I wanted her to seek

while I hid.

But she never found me

even though her heart

was where I hid.
