I have beaten all the odds so far. I was not supposed to be able to get this far, and I’m not even half way. After we lost everything back home, at 10 years old, I had to swim through a river twice and crawl through some pipes where tiny rocks were puncturing my knees and elbows.

I wanted to give up but wasn’t allowed to. I was stuck between people behind me and in front of me, had to keep going. It wasn’t until the third attempt that I was able to make it to this land. All of this and so much more, to be reunited with my mother.

I was humbled.

Out of all of this, the only thing i regret is not getting into college sooner. Back then when I tried to get into school, the state of Georgia didn’t allow DACA recipients to enroll. In their eyes we were still illegal. So I had an opportunity to move to New York, and moved here on my own. Didn’t know anything or anyone, but the names of the boroughs. Wondering if it was a good idea, I’ve only been hurt. People say I’m brave, though, I’m reaching that final symptom of collapsing under unbearable weight.

As an immigrant woman of color, I have to work so much harder, and sometimes it’s hard if you want to do it right. And like many, I don’t have room to give up either. One day my life story shall be written down. I’ve gone through so much in my life, I don’t understand how this pain of heartbreak is bringing me down, it’s breaking me down. I’m not strong, I’m weak. This darkness has taken over me. This pain of heartbreak is nothing like I have ever felt before. I’m at a breaking point. Gd Help Me...

First of tonight’s double-hangover-compensation-feature, NINA FOREVER. This one was probably the least “scary” movie we’ve seen thus far but it was still good.
