A sweet fan posted this #TBT of my 1st episode of #RizzoliandIsles today, and it got me a bit nostalgic. It was less than 2 years ago, but it feels like a lifetime away. When I started, I wasn't in the best place emotionally. I was going through a rough time personally and felt foggy about many things in my life and future. So getting a job like this, jumping into a 5-season set family and well-oiled machine...portraying the brilliant mind of 'Nina Holiday'...it all felt like a struggle, because some days it was difficult to even organize my own mind, let alone dive into the mind of a technological wiz and grounded beat cop. What should have been smooth or easy for me and felt like home all of a sudden wasn't. It shocked me. But I realized that Nina was probably going through the same things - living in grief and trying to get over the passing of the man she thought she was going to marry. She couldn't let her pain consume her, and though it wasn't easy every day, she knew she had to get back to what she did well. So I used all of what I was feeling and poured it into her, allowing myself the compassion and patience that I showed her as I healed. It was a lesson in self-love that I'll take with me throughout life. As we go into our last year of the show, I am filled with GRATITUDE for being a part of this amazing journey. The gift that is this R&I family has gone far beyond a fun place to work, amazing new friends and colleagues and new ways of loving and learning my craft from veterans. It has changed my life, and for this I will be forever grateful to every single person there for taking me in and showing me love. I have grown to such a place of joy, peace, and inspiration, and I have this opportunity to thank for much of that. This is just a small reminder that, whatever you're going through, there is always some anchor in your life that can hold you steady as you pull through. And you will get to the other side. In honor of our last season, I'll restart #NinasView. I'm shopping for a new camera now, so as I practice my new hobby, I'll share gems of our last times together. ☺️ Thank you all for your constant love & support. It's so appreciated. I love you. ❤️
