SURPRISE THE NINDROID!JAY COMIC IS REAL! REEEEAL!!! AFTER EXACTLY 10 YEARS IT'S FINALLY HERE MUAHAHAHA!!! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY IT! <3
I may be jumping too far ahead but I’m thinking the nindroid!Jay storyline will end as one big flashback. Centuries have passed and Jay and Zane are the only original ninja left in the distant future and all they have is each other. IDK This is still prone to change.
i read the first nindroid jay comic 10 years ago and oh my god im so glad u revived it (also im gonna b real i thought u left the fandom years ago too) RAAAAAGH NINDROID JAY
HYEHEHEHEH to be fair, I did kinda take a break for a few years there xD
If you thought I forgot about the nindroid!Jay stuff, think again! It’s not much but I’m sure you’re gonna have a good time.
“A... nindroid...?” It was strange for Jay having to hear his own voice nor carry a permanent echo with an electronic reverberation, taking even more of his humanity away from him.
The lightning ninja got up on uneasy feet and slowly walked towards the full-body mirror where he got to see his new body for the first time. He looked just like the way he did before the battle with the Preeminent except that his whole body was made of shining metal right down to the hair and his eyes now glowed in a brilliant electronic blue shade more vivid than the pale icy hue of Zane’s. If he wasn’t in such a state of shock, he would’ve found his new optics almost captivating.
“What... what have you done to me...?” Jay murmured with his new voice.
Zane was struck with a terrible feeling in his core. It almost felt like Jay was accusing him of some sort of violation. He was the one who converted him into a nindroid so he should be the one to explain for himself.
“I... I couldn’t think of any other way to save you...” Zane answered but the softness of his voice brought no comfort for the lightning ninja. Jay just stood silently while the ice ninja continued explaining his decision.
“You were so severely injured we had trouble recognizing you and even with that, your chances of survival was minimal. There was no way you would live through it and... this was the only way to keep you alive.” The nindroid concluded but grew worried by Jay’s lack of response. The blue ninja was always talking so seeing him like this was more than a little unsettling.
Jay continued staring at his reflection. He used to think being a nindroid would be cool. His senses were already much stronger than when he was human and he is no longer limited by the vulnerabilities of organic being such as needing to eat and sleep. Then memories of his experiences in the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master made him see the terrible truth of what it really means to be a nindroid. His new reality hit his square in the face like a sack of bricks.
Back at the caverns, he saw himself as a much older person with the one girl who was guaranteed to be his soulmate. That was his future as ordained by the First Spinjitzu Master and it was meant to be. But now, he’s a robot and Nya is still human. She will grow old and die while he will remain young and unchanging forever. He will never be able to follow her... or anyone else. His parents will be gone and so will the other ninja. He will only lose those he loved. He looked down on his hands and clenched his fists. He can still feel his fingers curl up into his palms but it just isn’t the same. This... isn’t how he should be.
‘No...! This-this isn’t how it was meant to be...” Jay’s voice shook just as the onslaught of emotions demolish any stability his mind had before this.
“Jay...” Zane felt minute vibrations in the room and Jay was at the center. He must calm him down or he’ll cause serious damage to himself.
“You... took everything away from me...!” The blue ninja glowered and the rumbles grew stronger. Zane could see sparks going off in Jay’s glowing blue eyes and small bolts of electricity laced his now shaking hands. He must calm him down or his new body will go haywire by the sudden tumult of emotions as well as the massive surge of power his lightning could create.
“Jay, calm down. I will help you get used to your new body.” He tried to approach the human turned robot but he wasn’t having it.
“I didn’t want a new body!” Jay’s distorted voice boomed and Zane fell back from his outburst. The room now shook as if the land was caught in an earthquake and the blinding bolts of electricity issuing from him shattered the lights and demolished any piece of furniture. The only source of light were the lightning bolts coursing through his whole body and glowing optics that glared at Zane with more fury than he’s ever seen.
The white ninja tried to speak but the blue ninja didn’t want to hear any more.
“I never asked for this! I never wanted to have my future taken away from me! I was supposed to be with my family! I was supposed to be with Nya! I wanted to die when she dies! But look at me now! I’m just a machine! Everyone and everything I love will be gone and I’m gonna be stuck here all alone! I’m gonna be stuck like this forever and it’s all your fault!” All Jay could feel was pure rage towards his own teammate, someone he was supposed to trust but no longer will after what he did. He fired bolt after bolt of lightning at the ice ninja during his tirade but he didn’t run away. Just looking at him only reminded him of all he had lost. He lost everything. Jay choked out a sob yet his eyes were dry. Alas, even more of his humanity had been ripped away from him, “Dammit! I never wanted to cry so badly in my whole life yet I can’t even do that! You just had to take that away too!”
Each and every word spoken by the lighting wielder left Zane with an unpleasant feeling that was worse than any pain dealt to him by any foes he and the ninja have faced. Yet something about all the scathing words Jay had for him provoked him to counter them. He knew he shouldn’t do this when the blue ninja is extremely unstable but he the urge to reach out to him repressed all sense of logic. He needed him to understand why he had to do what he must.
“No! That’s not what I intended! Jay, please! I did this for you!” Zane futilely pleaded.
Jay paused, seemingly placated. He looked at himself again and then at Zane. Then something else hit his mind. His gaze shifted back the the ice ninja and he never felt so much anger at anyone in his entire life.
“NO!” His voice literally shook the room and before Zane could move, Jay shot a powerful lightning bolt at him. The nindroid’s bloodcurdling scream as a full gigawatt of electricity caused intense damage to every single piece of machinery in his titanium body still wasn’t enough for Jay. It never will be. He’ll never truly understand his pain.
What Jay said next will haunt Zane for the rest of his days as long as he’ll live.
Another throwback to nindroid!Jay! Torturing Lloyd is par for the course in Ninjago so what better way to try writing Lloyd by making him think all the bad things that happen in this AU is his fault!
Lloyd sat with the others in the waiting room at the hospital. He never liked hospitals and now, he had even more reasons why he shouldn’t.
The only thing that’s remotely good to come out of this is that Morro is gone and he’s finally free.
But freedom seems to always come at a terrible price.
Many people have been lost when the City of Stiix sank with the Preeminent, he truly lost his father for good, Nya doesn’t look too happy being the Water Ninja who contributed to the destruction, Cole’s stuck as a ghost because of his efforts to free him, and on top of all that, Jay is dying.
And the worst thing about it is that it all happened because of him.
Some savior of Ninjago he turned out to be...
One of the doctors finally emerged from the ICU and judging from the somber look on their face, it wasn’t good and that was what they were expecting the whole time.
“I guess there’s no way to sugarcoat it for you,” The doctor sighed, “Jay is... alive... but...”
The ninja knew what was coming. Jay’s situation was already bleak but hearing it being confirmed didn’t make facing the truth any easier.
“No! I know what you’re gonna say!” Kai blew up at the doctor with an accusatory tone, “Jay’s as good as dead! Just say it already! If you can’t even save him, why bother!?”
‘Jay... dead...’ The two words rang in the green ninja’s head until it hurt. The guilt that already ate away his soul had rubbed salt onto the emotional wounds it had already caused.
He didn’t want to think of what will happen if, no, when Jay passes.
His parents will have to spend the rest of their lives bearing the pain of outliving one’s own child. Nya will lose the one person she ever loved. The ninja will all lose their brother.
How much pain and suffering must he cause for those around him?
“...he can’t even breathe on his own. There is very little chance of survival,” The doctor continued speaking of the blue ninja’s condition, “If you wish, you can go see him. I can’t guarantee it will deliver any comfort.”
“We’ll see him.” Cole answered, his voice now followed by an eerie echo that stung Lloyd’s heart more than he expected it to.
The ninja followed the doctor to the room where Jay is being treated with the green ninja at the very back.
Lloyd didn’t want to be reminded of these horrible changes in the team. If there was any way to wish it all away, he’d be more than happy to take it. But that kind of wishful thinking can only come true in fairy tales and children’s stories. Now he began to truly regret sacrificing his childhood so he can continue believing wishes can actually work.
Sooner than he liked, the ninja arrived at the room. The doctor pulled back the curtain and everyone’s hearts dropped.
Even with his body concealed, it was still a very sickening sight to see.
Underneath the blood-stained sheets, Jay’s body was hooked up to countless machines. Faint beeps interspersed with long pauses confirmed Jay was still in this world, albeit only with the assistance of all the machines. There were also various x-rays of his body and every single one had at least a couple of broken bones. Those were all only vague hints of the true horror hidden from the ninja.
“His... body...” Zane’s glowing optics lingered at the bloody cloths.
“Trust me, you really don’t want to see his body.” One of the doctors halted the nindroid.
“What... what’s gonna happen to him...?” Nya asked, her voice struggling to be heard without choking on withheld tears.
“Much of his vital organs have failed and many bones have been shattered. I’m sorry to say this but it would be cruel to keep him alive if it means being stuck like this for what is more than likely the rest of his life.”
Lloyd couldn’t take it anymore. He made a mad dash out of the room, out of the entire building. He didn’t pause to hear any shouts for him and just ran as fast as his legs can carry him. He took only a few steps outside the hospital when his legs gave in and he fell to his knees. The grief and guilt sickened him and he could feel the contents of his stomach forcing their way up.
Between choked sobs and agonizing cries, Lloyd stained the ground with vomit. With heavy breaths and much struggle, he got back up on his feet, staring at the ugly puddle of stomach acid and digested food. His mind went back to Jay laying on the hospital bed with his life hanging on a thin thread and how he made him that way. All of these terrible things happened because of him and he did nothing to prevent it. And then the terrible truth made him feel more disgusting than the pile of foul-smelling vomit before him.
If, no, when Jay dies, it will be his fault.
Lloyd will be responsible for the lightning ninja’s death.
I feel like going back to my old ideas including the nindroid!Jay stuff so here’s a little something I wrote starring Nya and Skylor cuz the girls of Ninjago need more love.
There are times Nya just wants to get away from it all. That could explain why she was at Chen’s Noodle House, soon to be renamed Skylor’s Noodle House. The Master of Amber’s current occupation was a far cry from being her evil father’s ruthless tool but it’s understandable she’d want a more peaceful lifestyle after all that. For now, she seems content, making a living out of something she truly enjoys and surrounding herself with people who actually care about her. Maybe that’s why Nya came here to escape all the drama that’s been going on.
The newly appointed water ninja watched the raindrops clinging to the window. She observed each drop running down the glass in some sort of chaotic race to the bottom. She pondered on the possibility that she was controlling their direction and speed. She still doesn’t know how to feel about all this. Her element was something passed down to her from her bloodline but as Samurai X...
Samurai X was something she made entirely from scratch. It was her own identity she crafted out of her own hands. Samurai X was a title and power she earned, not handed to her like being the water ninja. It doesn’t feel right. How could Sensei Wu and even the other ninja expect her to abandon something she had so much heart and passion on to become something she never planned to be in an instant? Shouldn’t she have her own say in this? Do they even respect her decisions?
She was only slightly aware of the Master of Amber saying something to her.
“Nya?” Skylor’s voice finally reached Nya’s sense of awareness.
“W-what...?” The former samurai’s mind returned to the real world.
“Would you like to order something? Don’t worry, it’s on the house.” Skylor offered.
“I’ll just have some iced tea.”
After preparing the cool beverage, the redhead sat across the table occupied by the new ninja. The silence was threatening to suffocate her. There’s probably a whole lot of stuff she and Nya could talk about.
“How's Jay doing?” Skylor blurted out the first topic in mind.
“He’s... still getting used to his new body...”
Skylor simply stared at the water ninja, not expecting any response. She can tell it’s a really difficult subject and she mentally kicked herself for bringing so impulsive. Before she can stop Nya, she resumed speaking of matters regarding the lightning ninja’s situation.
“Pixal and I are making a special suit for Jay. It’s infused with Volt Ore so his body won’t react when he uses his powers. It’s actually kinda scary... being hurt by your own element...”
“And what’s Pixal up to these days?” Skylor quickly changed the subject.
“She’s very concerned for Zane and Jay though I don’t blame her. Besides that, she’s been acting strange lately. She keeps asking people if they need anything more than she usually does and I saw her the other day looking at some info on swordsmanship. Cyrus Borg never really programmed any ‘pro’ combat skills in her and even when she shared Zane’s powers, she never used any weapons. I think she had this strange-looking blade when she was controlled by the Overlord. Then again, she wasn’t herself so I don’t know if she’s any good or not. I’m not trying to put her down or anything...”
“And how are things between you and Jay?”
“We’ve become... distant,” Nya sighed, “It’s not just because Jay’s a nindroid now. Over the last couple of years, we’ve been spending less time together. It’s like the moments we’ve shared together have lost their magic. And after the ninja went to the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master, he’s been... I don’t know... secretive. It’s more like... there’s something he’s wants to tell me but he can’t seem to spit it out. It’s like he’s hiding something from me. Maybe we just weren’t meant to be...”
‘Dammit, I came here to forget about all that stuff, not yammer on about it!’ The former samurai felt her head pound painfully. Luckily, Skylor sensed this was stressing Nya out. She wanted to make friends now and all she did was make the water ninja uncomfortable. There’s no way she’ll ever go back to the way she was, when she let her father rule over her.
“Don’t get so worked up. It’s my fault for badgering you in the first place,” Skylor placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, “Let me make it up to you. I’ll whip up your favorite foods for free, okay?”
“I-it’s fine, really. I should get going.” Nya abruptly got up and headed back to the Destiny’s Bounty.
The restaurant was silent once again and never felt so empty. Skylor glanced at the drink Nya discarded. It was still full.
If y’all thought I’d forget about my nindroid!Jay idea, think again! This time, we’re focusing on Kai and how he feels about everything that happened to the other ninja.
Kai’s head was lowered during the short walk down the hall of the Destiny’s Bounty. The ninja managed to defeat the Preeminent and Lloyd was finally free but victory wasn’t all sweet.
While he couldn’t be more proud of his sister proving herself as the water ninja, they weren’t able to save everyone from Stiix and Sensei Wu wasn’t proud of their latest victory, not when his very first student was gone for good. Even worse, Jay is dying and the sight of his horrifically mangled body, or what’s left of it, was burned into his mind forever. Sure, Jay got on his nerves on a daily basis but he was the last person to deserve such a gruesome fate. Even though the fire ninja was the one to have found Jay, Zane seemed to be taking it worse than everyone else. The nindroid absolutely refused to leave his side.
Now that he thought about it, Zane’s been acting strange. Well, more strange than usual.
The ice ninja would stay in the intensive care unit of the hospital where Jay is barely kept alive by the life support systems and when he was there, he’d bar anyone else besides the doctors from entering.
Who does he think he is?
They’re all family and they have every right to see him. Just because he’s a robot doesn’t mean he’s any better than them.
And that’s not all. Whenever he wasn’t by the blue ninja’s side, Zane would lock himself in his father’s old home in the Birchwood Forest doing who knows what. Whenever anyone tried asking him what he’s up to, he would brush them off and there were times the other ninja caught him mumbling on about how ‘it must work’ whatever that means.
Finally, there was Cole...
He had never seen the strong and sturdy earth ninja look so... vulnerable... when he saw that he became a ghost.
‘Cole...’
The black ninja was always determined to get the job done no matter what. And that quirk that was usually so admirable led to a fate worse than death. Cole now spent most of his time moping on his bed. There were so many things he loved to do but now can’t. He can’t eat cake, give big bear hugs to his friends, heck, he couldn’t even look at them without feeling the tiniest hint of jealousy. It all made him want to cry but he can’t without putting himself through agonizing pain as the tears run down his translucent green ‘skin’.
And that left Kai being the only ‘intact’ ninja and he hated it.
Cole’s a ghost, Jay is dying, and Zane is even more closed off than ever. They have done all they could to put a stop to Morro’s quest for revenge and they each paid the price for it.
And what did he do?
“Nothing!”
Kai was unaware of his thoughts being vocalized as he punched the wooden wall. He numbly observed his own blood gushing forth from where the splintered wood tore his flesh. Real flesh, not like the green glow of Cole’s body...
If only he wasn’t so selfish, none of this would’ve happened. He could’ve done more but he didn’t.
Guys, I’m stuck here. I feel like writing some stuff from the nindroid!Jay idea stuff but I have no idea what to write. Please give me some suggestions.
