My Ninjago review (so far!) from a newcomer!
I've never seen Ninjago until this year, and people were asking my opinion on things so I made some notes xD I will be updating this as me and my friend Cam watch the series together!
Let's go~
Season 1
Season 1 was a fun start to the whole show. As someone who only saw the movie twice, I was happy to see the true Ninja's personality and such! Pythor was a dork to be honest, a bit too silly for me but of course it didn't bother me! His voice was very lovely! Garmadon however was the highlight for me! I didn't realize how much he cared for his son like his determination to go help him was so sweet! Also, Zane became my favorite Ninja almost instantly. ;;
Season 2
This season was pretty cool! Loved that we have a lot of development with the Ninja! Obviously, was not a fan of Misako NOR Wu so far. Lloyd is an awesome character who sacrificed so much and had such a big destiny to face. Got super happy seeing Garmadon turn good at the end and Lloyd got his dad back! Overlord was a very cool villain, but only showed up for a little bit. But that battle between good and evil was amazing!
Season 3
The first episode had me pause in order to process what the HECK happened. So much happened and I needed a break xD But once we started up, I did like this season EXCEPT the dumb love triangle between Nya, Jay and Cole. Came out of nowhere, forced, and made me hate both Cole and Jay this season. Then they gave us an amazing couple with Pixal and Zane...then ripped my heart out at the end. (Had to remind myself I saw Zane screenshots when I wasn't a fan to assure he was alive HAHA)
Season 4
This was such an awesome season!! I loved learning about the other elementals, and seeing Garmadon be the teacher/mentor this season? HECK YEAH. Mission to rescue my son! The villains were VERY good, way better than I expected. I love how funny yet truthfully evil and manipulative they could be. It was balanced very well. The ending made me sad and was in denial for a while about Garmadon xD
Season 5
This was an interesting season. Kind of had a few misses for me, especially the ending felt kind of rushed? Morro forgave Wu way too quickly, at least for me. Morro was ALMOST a good villain, almost thought lady bone demon worthy for a minute. But nah he was okay. He is still pretty cool. The bringing in of the realm crystal sparked that LMK X Ninjago AU here xD all in all, a good season!
Season 6
This was one heck of a roller coaster for me xD The Djinn and his crew were super good villains! I was honestly surprised how the main villain acted, like in a good way! Twisting wishes, only wanting Nya to gain power for himself, etc. Jay definitely got on my nerves during this season. But in the end they got me crying for him and Nya xDD BUT IT NEVER HAPPENED, MOVING ON--
Season 7
This season was also a good one! So far I've been enjoying the show despite some issues! I did have an issue with Kai immediately assuming the worst despite evidence showing Krux and Acronix are forcing people to work with them, but it cleared up! I knew their parents were coming up, also called it when Wu was dying xD Again, Wu was not my favorite so far, and didn't really care much when he left. It was intense though seeing the ending fight scenes and honestly Wu got one point for helping Nya and Kai, and the two villains showed how merciless they were! Loved it!
Season 8-10 THE ONI TRILOGY
The oni trilogy was the best out of the seasons so far during this point! Dark, awesome story and a lot of action. So much happened so I hope these notes help explain it xD Harumi is a villain I hated very much as it should be! I was very hyped to see what happened in season 11--
Season 11.
The struggle I had watching this season. (AGAIN Sorry to anyone who loves this season, this is all my opinions! If you loved it, great!)
While looking up scenes for this, I saw they had to make it more lighthearted since they thought the Oni trilogy was too dark...yeah. This season was so difficult, my friend and I had to pause to process and really considered skipping the season all together...
but then...
SEASON 12. MY FAVE!
This season was absolutely fun to watch! I was legit shocked to see how great it was. We couldn't stop watching xDD The villain was awesome, side characters great, fun and very serious moments...we were back!
