in my Ninjago high school au (NHS) I’m working on a new oc named Ariel. Some things about her:

Ariel Turner is Griffin Turner’s sister. They were separated young when their parents divorced and decided to each take one child instead of fighting for custody, but she’s recently had to transfer to NHS and move in with her father since her mother got cancer. She’s the master of balance. Her dad is an actor and is pretty wealthy while her mother worked at the bank before she got sick. 

Ariel is shy until her interests get brought up. Like Jay, she’s in several fandoms though not as many as him. The two of them clash quite a bit because they both have hyper specific interests and talk a lot so their conversations are more taking turns talking at each other than anything and of course each turn lasts about 5 minutes. 

Ariel is autistic but she’s one of those people who it’s hard to tell until you actually know her. She gets nervous and uncomfortable in crowded spaces and doesn’t do well with a lot of loud noises or eye contact. She tends to look at people’s shoulder or the bridge of their nose while talking to them instead of their eyes. When she’s overwhelmed she’s even worse at making eye contact because it only overwhelms her more and this flusters her all the more and makes it difficult for her to function. She’s awkward but genuine—sometimes a little too much so because she doesn’t have much of a filter and struggles with knowing when she’s gone too far and when people are uncomfortable. This results in ✨social anxiety✨ she stims a lot (mostly things like picking at her fingers, wringing her fingers, tapping her foot, little things, but she usually has a fidget on her in case she gets overwhelmed and needs something to do with her hands) and is very accident prone. Also she writes ✨fanfiction✨(which Jay likes to read) 

Sometimes Nya will talk to her and Ariel is just so confused about why on earth someone as cool as her would take an interest in someone such as herself. 

Ariel has glasses for her astigmatism but even with them on she gets a lot of random migraines. She finds out once she starts training with Wu that the migraines were from her powers. 

She becomes friends with Lloyd and Ivy before anyone else by bumping into Ivy in the halls, accidentally ignoring all social cues, and following her to Lloyd (who was much more welcoming but also informed her that she probably shouldn’t hang around him. She then realized who they both were and was a little freaked out at first before informing them both that she’ll get bullied no matter what—specifically by her brother—so she doesn’t care). (NOT A SHIP) 

she’s 16 and is a sophomore :3

Yeon-hee calls Garmadon "appa" (아빠) It's "dad" in Korean.

And Kai, she secretly tells him "hyeongje" (형제) it's "brother" in Korean.

Yes, she has three favorite people, but Morro doesn't have a nickname yet 🤔

Well, here's my first post introducing my Ninjago OC: Yeon-hee. It will be in my fic that I'm working on :DD

Summary lore:

🪷 She was born in a village outside of Ninjago City, which was soon invaded by the Serpentine; her mother, dies at the hands of the Anacondrai. And shortly afterwards, Yeon-hee would awaken, in a forced manner, her elemental power.

🪷 Yeon-hee lived among the rubble and ashes of her village, until Garmadon, Wu found her. Instead of ending her suffering, Garmadon decides to take her in as his pupil, since he managed to empathize strongly with Yeon-hee.

🪷 Garmadon decides to help her control her power, thus turning her into a ninja, while secretly beginning an investigation into the origin of Yeon-hee's power; Wu and Mistake only know a few details.

🪷 Later, Yeon-hee would become a fully-fledged ninja. But before Garmadon became the Dark Lord, he gifted her a gi with a lotus flower emblem, as a final act of kindness.

🪷 Yeon-hee decided to follow her own path and on one of her trips she meets Morro, a former disciple of Wu. They formed a strong friendship, but despite Morro's obsession with finding the First Master's tomb, Yeon-hee stayed by his side. But one day Morro goes to the caves of despair, perishing shortly afterwards. Yeon-hee was unable to retrieve the body due to the toxic gas and left the scene.

🪷 After losing her best friend, Yeon-hee decides to leave the Ninjago kingdom through traveler's tea. She wandered through all the kingdoms until she reached the First Kingdom, but not the territory of the dragons.

🪷 Yeon-hee stays in the land of the Oni for a while, meets Omega and is reunited with Garmadon (but she treats him differently). She discovers that she is the daughter of an Oni and that her elemental power is corrupted. Shortly afterwards, Garmadon would be summoned by Harumi, leaving her again.

🪷 After leaving the Oni land, Yeon-hee returns to Ninjago; she reunites with Garmadon and he entrusts her with a job.

AAAnd some trivial facts:

🪷 Of the ninja team, Yeon-hee first meets Kai, after the Merge.

🪷 She has an extensive vocabulary that usually ends up scaring everyone.

🪷 Yeon-hee still remembers Garmadon's teachings before he became the dark lord.

🪷 She is direct in her responses, especially with her friend Morro.

🪷 She has extensive knowledge of Ninjago's history and origins, thanks to Garmadon.

🪷 Occasionally, Yeon-hee has hallucinations of Garmadon and Morro.

🪷 Omega hates her simply for being an Oni hybrid.

🪷 She doesn't consider herself a good mentor.

🪷 Yeon-hee sees Kai as the little brother she never had, despite having a rivalry with him.
