Spot that AI!
Today, we have two recent posts from @nintendocafe , the official Nintendo tumblr account. Or at least, an official Nintendo account. I’m honestly a bit unclear on who runs it, but it’s mostly Nintendo advertising with a splash of (usually) cool art.
The first post was from January 22:
Starting off easy with this one. Let’s look at the hairpiece first.
Dear lord, what is that abomination? Clearly whoever (or whatever) made this had no idea what Purah’s hairpiece actually looked like, or for that matter, how to get rid of the hair lines underneath!
And if that didn’t convince you, we can always look at the hands:
Yuck!
Next up, a piece from just a few hours ago, January 25.
Is this AI, or some seriously impressive rendering? Haha, of course it’s AI! Look at those ears!
And the way the hair moves around the ears, terrible! Hair movement is key for spotting this generated crap. Look how the hair morphs around the edge of the face:
And is that an ear, or a tumor? Who knows!
