It’s gotten a bit cold downstairs where my main drawing setup is, so I’ve been noodling on iPad upstairs in the comfort of heater and couch. Here’s a drawing of train in a cityscape. When I was a little kid I lived near a train track so my mom used to take me to see the trains. I loved them so much as a kid, and my dream back then was to become a train conductor XD
Happy New Year! I got an iPad Pro for this Christmas so I’ve been making paintings on Procreate lately. Here’s some of the first paintings. They were so much fun and I can’t wait to do more!
Hey guys! With only 4 more day until the release of our show Voltron: the Legendary Defender on Netflix, I’m happy to announce that I was given the opportunity to part take in a gallery exhibition called Dreamworks - Voltron Legendary Defender at Hero Complex Gallery!! A lot of the crew members have taken the time off of the crazy busy work schedule to participate in the show that we created together. It’s a bit surreal that the 13 episodes will be out for the rest of the world to see already. To me, and I’m sure to a lot of us, time flies so quickly that it felt like yesterday when we were still figuring out what each characters and environments looked like. But it is finally ready and I can’t be more exited to share what we’ve been working on! Voltron will hit Netflix on Friday 6/10!!

Here’s my submission to QPop Gallery’s Gainax Show! As a big fan of the Gurren Lagann Universe, I wanted to draw something that peaks into the past timeline that is the backbone to the main events of the show. Every character in this show is extremely appealing but the one that really stood out for me was Spiral King and his mech Lazengann. So with lots of love and fanboy hearts, I drew young spiral king before the events leading up to his confrontation with the Anti-Spiral and his transformation into the antagonist. The gallery show goes from Aug 22nd until Sep 13th, along with other lovely Gainax artworks! Come check out the show!
My submission for Qpop Gallery’s Tatsunoko Production art show! (https://www.facebook.com/events/1433367310306620/) As a kid I watched Mach Go Go Go on TV so this was a perfect timing for me! I remember all neat the gadget Mach Five had, so I decided to make a piece about the vehicle’s mechanics, plus lil bit of Akira parody thrown in ;) 11x14, digital. Come check out the show!
After attending the great Robh Ruppel’s workshop recently I was motivated to do observational paintings. So I grabbed my Ipad2 (which I only use to play games and browse these days) and started noodling away! I discovered the joy in going out for outdoor painting. While it’s much challenging capturing the ever changing light, and not to mention fighting with the massive glare from the screen, there’s the reward of getting out and breathing fresh(er than indoor) air. These locations include: my living room, my work, Malibu hike, and Griffith Park. The paintings are done in Procreate and my finger. So far this has been a good way for me to take break from my day work so I hope I can keep this up!
