Hey. I wish there was a "reply" button on posts. Is there if you have a tumblr account? Anyway. Re. the boys and Beckett - Beckett was a Sophmore in Stanford when her mum died (started college early I guess). She transferred and finished up in NYU (both facts from Terri E. Miller on castle wiki). Police academy training only takes a couple of months so 3 years chasing her mum's case brings us to five years after death - the same time her father got sober so fans logically conclude these were concurrent and given "the life that I saved" - Beckett dropped the case to help her father, then went to therapy. 1x05 confirms Beckett's been homicide detective less than 5 years. I assume that Espo was her first partner in homicide, but she was there first, and when Ryan started he was assigned to Espo. 2004/5 Beckett was still helping her Dad stay sober, still going to therapy, probably even angrier and more guarded than in 2009, but Espo would have been impressed by her, and guys impressed by girls in male-dominated environments become your brothers. It's also consistent with Espo's character as a soldier and a tough guy. Loyalty to your friends comes first, always. I would also love to have more retrospectives - if not necessarily flashbacks. Like, I have a head-fanfic about a superior officer who had an affair w/ + then cheated on Beckett consulting on a case and being a dick, Beckett being awkward and only Espo knows the back-story. That was way too long. Sry -Nixer
Hey, I'm sorry, I know I should really get tumblr, but ANYWAY, re. your Boom/Always gif set, I heard a rumour, even heard an amped/cleaned up audio file, purporting that just after Castle kissed between her breasts, Beckett actually whispered "You can look." which led him to open her top. I don't know how much was imagination, listening to the audio file, but they could be right. - Nixer
Hello again :)Oh don't worry about it :) It's absolutely fine :)Haha I was confused for a second which gif set you meant, cause I didn't post any Boom/Always gif sets, but yes, I reblogged one and I guess that's what you mean hahaAnyways, I know about the rumours and once people had told me about it, I was suddenly hearing it, too, but someone official (I think it was Marta Evry on Twitter - @venice4change) said, that she didn't say it and it was purely coincidental that it sounded a bit like it. Which is too bad, but ehThe scene is still epic :)But yes, if she had actually said it, the connection between these two scenes (her saying "don't look" in Boom and him being "allowed" to look at and kiss her scar) would have been even more evident :))By the way, have I mentioned how amazing you are yet? You really make me smile, cause I love discussing scenes and the characters and it's fantastic to have an anon who thinks about these things, too :))xx
I love your recent graphic - tribute to 'A Rose for Ever After' (which I'm just about to watch with my dinner). It's such an important episode, despite not being one of my favourites. Are you reading "A Better Fate", by chezchuckles? It zeroes in on the emotional circumstance and significance of this ep brilliantly. - Nixer (sorry, don't have tumblr)
Wow, I just squeed aloud at your message. Thank you so much for this! I'm really glad you like it *__*And yes, I am reading "A Better Fate", of course and I'm CRAVING new chapters :D It's absolutely amazing. I actually thought of it, too when I watched the episode yesterday and I agree, that it's really important for the characters and their further emotional development. I feel like this episode was probably essential for Beckett to start imagining that maybe she could actually let Castle in. I believe her realization that he really does go for "real" is so very important, cause she guards her heart very well and so far she had only seen the "playboy" side of him. She may have started to feel that there is more to him than that already, but she couldn't really be sure about it up to that point, so I really think this episode was vital to her opening herself up to the possibility that Castle could be more to her than just a partner; that maybe he wouldn't end up hurting her and that it could actually work. But yeah, enough with the analyzing xD Have fun with the episode tonight and again: thank you so much for the lovely message! :)xx
