While Ruella is most clearly a Rava by her skintone alone, she was in fact raised by the Veena in the Skatay Range, primarily these two—Njala the Chieftainess (right), and her younger sister, Njola the Shaman (left), from the Veena village of Hvieslawel. Considering Ruella is far from young herself anymore, Njola and Njala are quite elderly by now, but still kicking.

And "Ruella" is Ruella's city name after having left the woods. Her forest name was Hjalmveig, given to her by Njola after a village huntress discovered a dying Rava woman with a kit not even weaning age at the borders of their territory. There was nothing she could do for the woman, but the kit she brought back to the village where the Chieftainess decided they would keep and raise it, rather than trying to find Rava to return it to.

Telling myself not to mod them. Threatening myself with a knife to keep myself from modding them.

Kiteezi by Njola

In the new installation Kiteezi by Ugandan artist Nabukenya Allen aka Njola, rubbish becomes a language of renewal. The starting point for this is a devastating landslide at the Kiteezi landfill, the most important waste disposal facility in the city of Kampala.
