Last night was the first night in the firehouse. Engine 15, volunteer duty crew. 

It’s a simple idea, young and old alike, manning the equipment; waiting for the bell. A nineteen year old OCD, hypocondriac girl as EMT. A 38 year old, former truck driver man driving. Always seeking the rev limiter. 

Nobodies perfect, not even the people who give up their nights and weekends to hear the bell ring. The bell that salutes car accidents, heart attacks and suicides alike.
