Allo.
Yay.
In an hour I go to the dentist for alveololasty, a basic oral surgery that you are locally anesthesized for.
They will take a scalpel and cut open my gums, peeling it back to expose the bone. Then they will clip off a decent sized piece of bone with a Rongeur tool.
Following that they will take either a bone file or hand drill and file/grind down other areas of bone.
*Making sure to use a constant saline stream to keep the mouth free of germs and more importantly, keep the drill cool enough that it does not burn the tissue and cause it to then die.
After getting to sit & listen to (and probably smell) this surgery being performed, they will use several sutures to close up my gums.
Then I drive home and hope the pain & swelling is manageable.
I am both curious & a little nervous. I've gotten hurt many times from or during dental procedures.
*Also, probably from the MS, I have begun having either this quick unexpected full body muscle spasm or my arms will spasm/tense up. I'm still learning this neurological stuff, so that too makes me nervous, the idea of spasming during the surgery.
Yay.
Cheers NMX.
