Every blog I've been on in the past three hours has mentioned "HBB" WHAT THE HELL AM I MISSING??????

HELLO! Welcome to the Hobbit Big Bang posting season. From the start(ish) of May until the end of the month, certain fics and their associated collaborative artwork (podfics, graphics, etc) will be posted. 

I’m seriously not good at explaining, so I’m yoinking northerntrash‘s explanation from this post:

“A big bang is a fandom event: basically, writers submit a summary and draft for a fic idea, and artists (of various mediums) sign up to create something for that prompt. The art and fics are released together over a specific period of time (in this case, the Hobbit Big Bang is running from the 10th-31st of May). We’re getting into the busier half of it now, so you’ll probably see more excited ramblings from the people involved (and definitely from me, sorry about that).

The authors have to get the fic entirely posted in that time, and it is a great chance to collaborate with other talented people in the fandom, as well as getting a whole load of new stuff appearing in all different ships all at once. :) There are kinds of things that you can do for it aside from writing and artwork, like creating graphics, banners, podcasts and playlists. And it’s hella fun, and I’ve met so many lovely people through it :D
