The Admiral remained posed outside of the large villa that lay nestled in the hills of Stormsong Valley, her childhood summer home that showcased large windows and iron gates at first glance. The ten acres of land split into gardens at the posterior of the house, well trimmed, and upkeep by the lady of the house. Blood red roses intermingled with fountains and benches, as well as a maze of hedges that the children of clan Imortis spent their afternoons in, giggling and hiding from their infuriated parents.
At the entrance of the labyrinth, Alexa calmed her nerves, nursing both a lit vice and a glass of the darkest aged rum, both gifts from her company that remained indoors. Clean up was now well underway from the extravagant dinner, in which she promptly excused herself to enjoy some fresh air and the company of Rei’s multitude of small problematic beings alike.
The ravens had, in some sense, grown on her, the start of their relationship a bit rocky, but now she regarded them as friends. She suspected that the inner connection between herself and Rei, sustained by magic between both of their forms, helped bleed some of the fondness from their master. But now, They kept a watchful eye on her as Rei navigated difficult conversation with her parents alike.
Her thoughts lingered on the scene inside, as her mother most likely circled and fired off a thousand questions, and her father eased the tension with jokes a sailor father could only muster. Awkward, had been their first interactions, with Alexa’s mother eyeing from afar, and father going in right away to collect the small Priest in his arms. They exchanged pleasantries, and dinner went off without a hitch, right up until conversation of her siblings arose.
Veronika was always a bit of a sore subject, the favored of the two women offspring by her mother, and often used to fuel Alexa’s anger. Personally, she considered the girl a disgrace on the family name, but her parents dared not see it in her own light. Especially considering that the youngest sibling had forever been able to “push the envelope” a bit further than the rest of her kin.
When news of her most recent arrest rose in inquiry, Alexa promptly excused herself and made way for the outside air, to nurse a smoke and get her wits about her. Further, her thoughts wandered towards a being that sailed far away from her present location, wondering briefly if the Diplomat had received the note carried personally by Valor.
The massive white avian had flown off at dawn, and certainly would return in the next hour or so. Tied to his feathery neck resided a personal letter for a certain beloved, meant only for her eyes, detailing the “gift” that the Admiral had planned upon receiving the information from Jax’s deckhand, Troy.
“You alright, luv? Left me to drown there for a moment, didn’t you?” A lightly accented tone pulled the Admiral from her thoughts, causing her to shift her attention and gaze towards the individual.
“You snuck up on me, darling. Just needed a moment, are you ready to head back in?” Alexa ashed the cigarette off to the side, to then follow with snuffing the butt out via the edge of her ebon heels. Subconsciously, hands then rose to smooth wrinkles from the onyx floor length evening gown, cut specifically with a low back to showcase her sculpted shoulders and back.
“If the Admiral so desires, though, is that title for your father, or?” A eyebrow rose, showcasing cool humor that Rei ever so beautifully delivered without breath or hesitation.
“Hush now, I am sure that both of us will respond. Let us return inside… have you seen Valor as of yet? I heard Morte yelling his favorite word that you taught him.” Alexa mouthed the obscenity, to then quickly pivot and head back into the dining room via the massive doors from the outside.
