No heresy || Baelfire & Leo [Closed]
Leo sat outside opening and closing his left hand, testing the strength and weakness as he felt it still healing. He curled it back into a fist, feeling the line where the khukri had gone through, getting stuck in the bones at his wrist. It had been the poisoned blade that had slowed down the whole process. But it could have been worse.
He opened his hand.
Leo closed his eyes and leaned his head back, thinking about the fact that Ben had saved his life. He would have been dead. Head blown to bits with enough vervain to keep any rare possibility of healing gone. He would be ash right now. For a moment in the chaos of the warehouse had thought that Ben was dead and that he was only dragging a body out so it could be burned in Covaire. He had sacrificed his hand to make sure that Ben’s body stayed as intact as he could. Ben was very old. He would survive.
He closed his fist.
He had stayed in the hospital for Ben, because he knew the wolf would’ve done it for him. But the other reason was to give his own body time to look a little less like the hammered shit he felt like. Baelfire had held himself together admirably well from what he had seen of Ben’s slaves. The wolf had been perfect, but that was what the vampire demanded of him. He’d had to deal with the left overs of whatever hysterics Bryce had been through and if Baelfire had carried on the vampire’s on temper would have snapped.
He hadn’t known that Baelfire had sobbed while he was in the shower, the pain lancing through his body as he washed his burns and bullet wounds. To wrapped up in his own world.
He opened his hand.
Baelfire should probably know just how close to dying he’d come. But Leo didn’t really want to talk about his own brush with mortality. Even if there was a distinct possibility that either Bryce or Aidan would let slip the information. He’d flay them alive if that happened.
He closed his fist.
