Many people who have followed me for a while most likely know the tale but I’ll tell it again for my new followers!

Big Boss came into my life last summer (2017) when my grandma and I found a bag of abandoned kittens on the side of the road one day (around where we always go to feed local strays behind a car wash which is like…an unfortunate place where people are known to abandon their pets). Well, my grandma heard tiny “mews” and meows from the bag and when she went to open it, she saw several kittens in the bag (which..agh…most of them were already dead….) except one kitten: Big Boss.

She pulled him out and brought him to me and….he looked horrible. His right eye was cloudy and his left eye was completely…well…squashed into his skull. It was horrid. I was sick to my stomach thinking about the sick person who could have done that to those poor kittens. Ugh….well, we couldn’t leave him there so I took him home with me and took him to the vet the next day.

I got him some kitten formula and medicine to get his strength back. The vet said that they would need to surgically remove his left eye or else the infection would certainly kill him. I took a lot of money from my savings to get him that surgery asap, along with the help of a Gofundme that I had created for him. Lots of generous people donated and helped him get through a successful surgery and helped pay for his medicine! <3

After that, I had named him Big Boss, because wow what a strong, little badass he was, and decided to keep him. He’s on daily medication for his weak immune system and though his good eye is permanently cloudy, he can still see and walk and play and cuddle like a champ! I am so glad that he is now in my life. My little family wouldn’t be complete without him.

Art tips: Shapes and how they affect how your characters are perceived

So, hypothetically lets say you have 2 characters: a villain and a hero, and you don’t know how to design them to make sure people know who fits what role. Well a very basic idea revolves around their shape, yes shape, let me explain.

Shape theory is really interesting and I don’t really know how to explain it but I’m gonna do the best I can with what I know.

Heroic/main protagonists should be soft round and smooth, smoother characters elicit a feeling of trust.

Villains should be pointy edgy and jagged, to reflect their personality
