You may think mullet Phil looks stupid or cringe but he will turn up and pull your bitches and take your Grammys.
See. Look at him go. Adorable smugness. Powerful aura. Charming nonsense. Instantly recognizable foolish look.
there;s a huge range in "album covers that look at you" and i can't think of a better example than these ones

Review:
Songs I Previously Heard/Knew:
Sussudio
Personal Favorite Track: Don't Lose My Number
What Best Describes this Album: Miami Dance Club Circa 1986
Personal Grade: Weak- 5.2/10
Personal Assessment:
This album opens up with Sussudio - which is the only song I am familiar with (besides songs Phil did with Genesis and for the Tarzan Movie) - but then I am introduced to the rest of the tracks.
And Wow....
This totally sounds like Dance Techno to me.
Is Dance Techno a thing...?
or
I don't know what exactly qualifies for Electronic Dance Music (EDM), but this whole album definitely seems like an early ancestor of the that style of music/beat.
Very Upbeat - Fast Paced - Like Auditory Cocaine for your Ears.
With all that I have already said - on past reviews - I typically love upbeat/fast paced tracks - but - some songs on this track feels like it overcorrected - like my heart is headed for a myocardia infarction.
Also I usually praise a good use of horns, piano, or guitar riff - but - for some reason - to me at least - all the instruments seemed completely synthetic - unnatural - yet....totally 80's.
Every intro to each track almost sounding like someone is playing a sonic drum kit at Radio Shack.
Even Phil's voice seems/sounds heavily filtered.
I definitely heard this type/style before - but - coming off the other previous Best Albums of the Year - it feels wild - like going from Steak & Potatoes to Pixy Stix & Churros.
Overall this is a decent album - worth listening to - but many tracks muddle together and some points can just sound like noise.
Definitely an album you will need to be in the mood for - an album where you may want to allow yourself some room to bop around and groove.
In short - not an album to be embarrassed of being in your collection - but - definitely not one to getting much rotation.
To Summarize My Ramblings:
A Dance Heavy Album (with a few slow ballads) for the Techno Fiends, Synthetic Sound Enthusiasts, and Nostalgic Lovers of that 80's.
Also this Album tied with Lionel Richie's - but - I'm going to give Lionel Richie the edge:
Share a more 80s song. I dare you.
