âBIOGRAPHY.
trigger warnings: â Abuse, Eating Disorder Noah grew up in the wealthy community of Bell Canyon, California. The son of a lawyer and a politician, and with his familyâs wealth and influence going back for generations, appearance was always a deep concern for his family. His entire life was structured to present the best picture to the public, every class, activity, and hobby had to be carefully considered, and it wasnât uncommon for him to find himself stuck with something that definitely hadnât been his first choice. He spent most of his childhood in piano and horse-riding lessons, playing soccer and tennis, despite the fact that he had wanted guitar lessons and baseball. His older sisterâs tendency to rebel against what their parents wanted had only added to Noahâs willingness to do whatever would keep the peace, especially as his mother often reminded him that he was âthe easy childâ.
Though his sister Sara was only three years older than him, the two had never been close. Saraâs outgoing and strong personality had clashed with Noahâs quiet shyness and while they didnât often fight, they also rarely spent time together. While Sara did care deeply about what others thought of her, she also had a very different opinion of what was important then her parents did and Noah felt as though his parents spent more time trying to cover up his sisterâs rebellious actions then they ever spent on him. More than once, Noah had overheard his father commenting that it would have been much easier if his childrenâs personalities had been swapped but Noah was too afraid of the backlash to ever really act out, too worried about disappointing his family to ever try to be like his sister.
In high school, Noah found himself known mostly for his intelligence. While he was never the star when it came to sports, usually finding himself somewhere in the middle, he could always be counted on for straight Aâs. When any of his grades seemed threatened to drop, it wasnât uncommon for Noah to end up panicking, throwing everything else to the sidelines until his grade was back where he felt like it should be, often forgoing food and sleep to do so. As his father began to move up the political ladder, the pressure to keep up the façade of the perfect teenage boy only increased and as the hints began piling up about how nice it would be if he was his soccer teamâs star player, Noah did his best to step up his training. It didnât take long for Noah to decide that it was easy to skip meals to study, or get in extra practice or work out time and the better he did at school and soccer, the happier his parents seemed to be with him.
When he got into the Emory to study English, Noah was secretly thrilled at the distance it would provide him from his family, far away from where he had grown up and where his father held political influence, and hopefully, he could finally escape the pressure. Especially considering the fact that his parents werenât completely thrilled at his choice in major. It had taken promising that he would go on to get his doctorate, and hopefully end up as a college professor before they had relented to letting him study what he wanted. In an effort to appease his parents he had tried out for the soccer team there, surprising himself when he actually made it.
Even without as much pressure from his parents, the stress of college and playing a college level sport was enough to keep Noah using his high school coping methods in an effort to keep up. He took his schoolwork and his sports seriously, determined to prove that he was good enough for his parents even as he wanted to live his own life. He had a streak of perfectionism that wasnât going away easily, and when things became difficult, sometimes he felt like what he ate and how much he worked out - and, in connection, his body, were the only things he could control.
In his senior year, Noah found a new girlfriend, one that quickly became much more serious then any he had before. He wasnât entirely certain how he had ended up dating someone as beautiful and popular as Loralei but he decided it was best not to look a gift horse in the mouth. For the first couple of months, everything seemed perfect and it took Noah a while to even realize how controlling she could be, used to going along with what someone else wanted of him. Though he wasnât entirely happy with it, he was used to behavior like that and did his best to shrug it off. As time went on, things slowly became worse and behavior he was used to slowly escalated as she was quick to pick up on every tiny thing he did wrong and ranting turned into screaming.
It was nearing graduation when Lorelei hit him for the first time. Noah had been stunned and she had been quick to apologize, suddenly insisting that she didnât know what she would do without him and Noah was able to convince himself that things really werenât as bad as they seemed. However, after only a few weeks of quiet, things began to go downhill fast. With every bruise she left, Noah found himself spending more and more time in the gym in an attempt to both avoid her and keep control over at least one part of his life. Every fight led to more marks that he had to find excuses for, and Lorelei insisting that she would hurt herself if he ever left her. The more trapped that he began to feel, the more time he spent in the gym, and the less time he spent eating.
Noahâs whole life began to revolve around keeping his secret, coming up with believable excuses for every injury and doing his best to keep Loralei as happy as possible. As much as he was beginning to fear her, he also loved her and he didnât think he could forgive himself if she hurt herself because of him. And he didnât even want to imagine how his family would react if they found out he was letting his girlfriend treat him like this. Desperate to try to get some space, he was glad to look for an off campus apartment to live in for grad school, but Loralei only took that as an excuse to spend more time alone with him. However, things quickly exploded and ended with Noah in the hospital, claiming he had been mugged just before Lorelei went home for the summer.
As he began grad school and she starter her senior year, he hoped that things would be different, and at first it seemed like Loralei really had changed as she had promised, that hurting Noah so badly had made her realize what she was doing, but unfortunately that barely lasted a month. As her abuse escalated again Noah desperately tried to keep his life together, throwing himself into school and sports every chance he had as a distraction. He was stuck and he had no idea how to get out. When he finally let a few of his friends in, they began to convince him that he had to leave her. However, his plans went wrong rapidly when Lorelei discovered them. In the ensuing chaos, she trashed his apartment and attacked him, and ended up being arrested. The relationship is finally over, but Noah isnât looking forward to the legal mess heâs left with.
âPERSONALITY TRAITS.
Intelligent, Patient, Loyal
Secretive, Dependent, Stubborn
âHEADCANONS.
Even with as different as he has always been from his sister, Noah Skypeâs with Sara at least once a month. He thinks that she might finally be calming down from her party girl ways, and he canât help but hope that maybe someday soon they could actually be close like he sees other siblings be. Sometimes he could really use having a big sister around.
As dependent as Noah can be, he also needs to be needed. Though heâs terrible at taking care of himself, heâs very, very good at taking care of other people. Heâs most definitely the parent friend, the one who always gets called when someone is drunk and needs a ride home, or when they donât understand an assignment.

Seems like something pretty major has been going on with Noah lately.
âHonestly, that boy is going through the most right now and usually, Iâm not one to share compassion, but I feel for Noah. I hope everything works out for him now that his ex is gone and hopefully he can find a way to pick up the pieces and really move on from this. He seems to have a good support system around him too, which seems to be helping a lot. Shout out to him for remaining so strong through it all. We wish him nothing but the best from here on out.â
