YOOOOOO! I LOVE ASMR and it is probably at least a little bit of the reason that I also enjoy ambient music, but like seriously I have bad sleeping problems and lately ASMR has been huge in helping me deal with that!

ALSO you have been putting out so much stuff that I haven't had a chance to listen to so one of these I am just going to go thru your blog/soundcloud and like everything

Welllll, I don't listen to too much bluegrass. I guess the most 'revered' artists are like Flatt and Scruggs (Scruggs being the guy that invented and popularized the five string, fast picked rolls, that stereotypically characterize bluegrass). I just recently read thru the wikipedia article on bluegrass and downloaded a bunch of other stuff too, like Bill Monroe and Alison Krauss. And, Jerry Garcia was in a bluegrass band called Old and in the Way. I posted a youtube video of one of their songs. Also, Old Crow Medicine Show is pretty good, although recent, and probably the band that got me officially interested in bluegrass and banjo. Also, Gillian Welch is awesome, but 'folk' and not bluegrass. I hope this is an ok list! Bluegrass is like one of those 'grass-roots' kind of things. So, I bet like local bluegrass bands are way better. I dunno

Yeah no prob! I love you're stuff and was listening thru it all again, so thought I'd post something. Also Marconi Union is soooo good, Sleepless is one of the most perfect songs ever.

No Axis is one of my favorite ambient artists, doing a sort of Marconi Union thing what? more of a pop sensibility?, which is probably off, but that's my frame of reference! Maybe there are other indie artists or w/e that are a better reference, but I like this stuff, and I hate consistently comparing other artists and genres to make safe referential categories.

I could say that there is a bit of the attempt at organic realism of the mood of being in the world, like Marconi Union's album concepts; and there is also that sense of pure sonic fantasy, that aethereality? of like pure sound and slow difference? BUT this is sort of taken up by a good beat, so you want to sleepdance to it. So, there!

Yeah but you're music is actually really good! I dunno I do kind of cycle thru this feeling of self-doubt pretty regularly. So we'll see.

The way this strains the familiarity with Pachebel's Canon, is similar to what I am talking about?

That No Axis track, In Waves, is so, angsty? Like the way it sets up all this ominous octave oscillating to minor second fuzzy drone saw out of like a blank hum, and just fails and then expands? It defines and then deepens some kind of abject difference, at least as commonly apparent? The difference in a half step is much more audible, or apparent someone that doesn't know what to call it other than dissonance. And I mean this swooning decay happens after the guitar? fuzz fulminates against the drone into a power chord. Can I say fulminate. Then the drop - I don't want to really call it a drop for fear of stereotype - fails that all so cutely...but the drone never leaves, we've just started ticking and arping on top of it, precariously, tiny old ass Roland drum sounds and distorted synths like Aphex prepared piano? And it goes in a lot of other places from there.

I dunno shit's good. Listen to it.
