How to Historica #1: Castes and How to Tell Them Apart
Ok, so, in my little AU of a Bayverse/Prime crossover, I have this story called Historica: The Untold Story of the Scout Commander, or Historica for short. In this universe, there are castes, but there are also ways of telling these castes apart. Below the cut is a detailed description of each class, but because of my drawing skills, no pictures for now. Castes go as shown:
Nobility
Council
Science
Show
Trade
Worker
Fighter
Nobility Caste
The Nobility Caste is reserved for Primes and their family units. Within the Historica universe, this would be Sentinal Prime*, Orion Pax*, Megatronus* and Ultra Magnus* (Or alternatively Alpha Trion, Lowblast, Ashwood** and First Aid**) . It is possible for a Prime to become Disgraced (lose their Caste), and unless one of the family has gained the markings of Prime, all of the family will be demoted. The ones from the Nobility Caste wears a soft “v” shaped plate that covers their spark seam and goes over their shoulders. It is removable, though extremely painful to do so. Only Nobles may wear the plate and once disgraced, all must remove it.
*Sentinal was deemed Disgraced before the War, and he and Megatronus were sent into the Fighter Caste while Orion and Magnus were able to become part of the Trade Caste
**While not Disgraced, First Aid choose to demote himself to the Science Caste to learn how to be a Medic while Ashwood became a Scientist
Council Caste
This is the only Caste that rarely changes. There are only 3 officially on the Council, and the position is often graced from creator to creation. Often, soft plates long enough to form a train behind them will be placed on their tanks, and removeable helm pieces of random crown shapes may occasionally appear. Those of the Council Caste cannot be Disgraced and are the only tones to wear the plated train.
Science Caste
A Generalized field. All types of scientists, from Medics to inventors, are located within this Caste. While not technically the top, Medics are able to override the Nobility and Council Castes. You can often tell the Medical part of the Caste apart by their orange and white colorings. Generalized Scientists will have white and silver colorings while the more extensive theorists will have a silver and black scheme. Many of the Science Caste are allowed to keep their markings of their old Caste, in which colorings must be used to identify.
Show Caste
Actors, singers, writers: any Cybertronian who wishes to be famous for not being a Prime will want to be in this Caste. Often one could tell them from the crowd by the shine of their proto-armor or the tenor notes of their voice, though the biggest nod is the soft plated “w” that rests on their chassis and shoulders, much like the Nobility Caste. While not often, some of the Show Caste can go into the Science Caste, as shown by Knockout.
Trade Caste
Most see the Trade Caste as the middle class. Retail, librarians and law enforcement, they make enough to get by peacefully, but not as much as the Show and Science Castes. They were created to uphold the peace, and to keep Shanix* flowing during hard times for the upper Castes. They often have a visor or “v” shaped helm piece to tell
Worker Caste
The Worker Caste is seen as the last “free” Caste, or lower class in humans terms. Square helms and flat digits, they’re construction workers and miners, risking life and limb to get what little pay they could earn. Often, they have a rounded chassis for tool storage and bomb disposal.
Fighter Caste
The lowest of the low -- Slaves. Most of the Fighter Caste are Disgraced, once someone of a higher caste that was found guilty of a crime and sent to the Pits of Kaon to fight for their freedom. Those sparked into the Caste have a high chance of being moved to a Trade Caste unit. Often, these Cybertronians will be retrofited with sharp shoulder pads, and their denta will be forcibly sharpened.
Anyways, that’s what I have for the Castes right now. The info is due to change when I write more into the story.
