Kageyama couldn't really decide if he hated camp or he loved it. It was a mix of both, probably, but he definitely hated being the only one in his cabin. It had to be the loneliest times of his life, being confined in those big obsidian walls, being the only child at his table in the mess hall, and he hated the fact that everyone looked at him like he was an issue, a mistake in the line of demigod children. Save for a few people from Apollo's Cabin (mainly a boy named Hinata), Athena's Cabin, and Poseidon's only cabin-mate, he hardly spent time with anyone, keeping to himself in the vineyard, by the waters, or sometimes, spending time with the dark creatures in the forest, although he was avoided like the plague from the dryads and nymphs. Ridiculous, really. It wasn't like he could kill them with his touch! A son of Hades could do many things, but a death touch was not one of them.
Yet, no matter how much he pleaded, no one seemed to understand that besides the few that would speak to him on occasion. Many of them were insistent on having him on their team for Capture the Flag or for miscellaneous sports. Other than that, Kageyama was kept alone and kept to himself.
But as the main head of the Hades Cabin, he of course had to greet all of the newcomers. A fresh summer, a fresh group of demigod children who had been or yet to be claimed by their godly parents, but they showed signs and the satyrs kept them safe, glad to have found a brand new fresh set of faces, but just standing in front of his cabin already had people avoiding him. Still, it wasn't like Kageyama really attempted to keep himself looking approachable. With heavy bags beneath his eyes and nearly a permanent scowl, a lot of people, especially girls, found him intimidating and scary. Well, he would rather be feared than made fun of. He supposed that was one perk of being at this camp year round: he didn't have to deal with regular people.
It didn't take them long for all of the new demigods to be divided up for the cabin leaders to take them on tours. Since there had been an influx of demigod children from a variety of gods and goddesses, the responsibilities had been split. He ended up with three people: two boys, whom one looked Apollo and the other looked Hypnos, since his eyes were already slipping shut from standing there, and a little blonde girl, whom he couldn't quite make out who she might be the child of.
After introducing himself to the two boys, Kageyama went to the girl, sizing her up and then offering a firm hand, albeit a little nervously, to her. "I'm Kageyama, head of the Hades Cabin. You are...?" He really hoped he wasn't too intimidating for the girl. He'd feel horrible if he was.
