I understand your reasons for saying people can move away from America, but for many people, it's impossible. It may be because age (I'm too young), family (my whole family is here), money (who can afford to move countries tbh), and also this is our /home/. No matter what's going on, it's still home. Also there is police brutality and institutionalized racism worldwide. (Please don't think I'm attacking you, it's merely my opinion and observations.)
There's no need to put that last little blurb at the end. If anything, I really want to thank you for talking to me. I welcome opposing opinions, just so long as it's in a calm and respectful manner (like what you just did). I respect you so much for voicing your opinions, and I appreciate you taking the time to come talk to me. (I hope you don't mind if I publish this).
I know that there are restrictions for people's stay here in America, but everybody is acting as if this kind of behavior only happens in America, which is entirely false. There are plenty of cases of police brutality, sexism, racism, etc. all around the world, but nobody ever talks about them. America is just the loudest and most obnoxious of the bunch. The news that happens in America is heard all around the world.
I'm talking to the people that have the means to leave, but don't. If you hate this country so much, and you have the means to get out, then why don't you? Why do you choose to stay? Because clearly a place with so much injustice and brutality should not be called "home."
There is a reason why so many people immigrate into America. There is a reason why my parents decided to leave half of their families behind in Vietnam to come to America. As shitty and douchey as America can be, there is a lot of good that happens here, and trust me, living here in America is a lot better off than a lot of the other countries in the world. My parents came here with nothing but the clothes on their backs; they didn't have a penny to their name. But after years and years of hard work, they made a name of themselves. My fish camp counselor is 30, male, African American, dyslexic, and has a family of 4, but he's still attending university and getting a degree in Industrial Distribution. To me, there is no excuse. There is no reason why you can't be successful. Perhaps that's insensitive and ignorant of me, but it's what I truly believe.
If I were to go back to my roots, and if I was living in the same villages that my parents lived in, I would not be the same person that I am today (whether that be a university student or a cunt bitch, that's up to you).
I love this country, not for her flaws, but for her beauty. I am grateful for the opportunities that I've been offered here. If you truly hate this country and you want to leave, go ahead. If you're too young, wait till you get older, get a job, be successful, and do what you want with your life (like, leave).
