There’s a gap in the buildings.” If Ai had been sitting up, his chances of not catching the other by surprise would have been better- whether they were actually startled or not was a different story. But no, he happened to by lying on his back on a bench when he spoke, not having seen a reason to sit up in the first place.

He’d just glanced at the other when they’d paused nearby, to which Ai deduced the direction they were looking. If the other young man was searching for something or just checking out the view, he didn’t really care.

There was no reason for the attention ( as if her snow white regal gowns wasn’t an uncommon sight ), and she found it to be unnerving having just come from a hostile world full of preying Nightmares. And so she met the individual’s eyes evenly ( though her cold grey eyes seemed stiff with a warning ).
