hc// steve and nancy used to go to the same ballet school as kids (let’s pretend steves dad would allow him to do ballet)

Steve quit when he got to high school because Tommy would make fun of him and his coaches would call him ‘ballerina’ if he wasn’t having a good practice.

Nancy quit before she started dating Steve because she was too consumed with the school newspaper and her honors and AP class work load, but she always misses it.

The two of them kept a collection of their pictures from performances and classes and they come across them when they are moving to their new apartment with Robin and Eddie

Robin mentions she did ballet as a kid but her mom pulled her out when she was 8 because the teacher was mean and she wishes she kept at. Eddie says his aunt on his moms side is a dance teacher in Indianapolis and she used to bring him to classes when she babysat him.

Flash forward to them being roommates in the city and fumbling through beginner adult ballet classes together just for fun.

So, it started as a joke. A serious joke, but a joke nonetheless. A joke made by Eddie who wasn’t sure how serious he was before the joke had landed. Sure they were a little high and in a good mood after Johathan and Argyle took the kids home following a pretty light-hearted D&D sesh at Steve's house. So maybe that played a factor in all of this, but all four of them had plenty of sober hours to back out when they all met up the next night for... it.

Awesome afternoon today spent at the DZRJ 810 AM station as a guest on their newly launched program: RJ Society of Music. Thank you to gorgeous host Marybeth Nave for inviting me over and the folks at RJ for letting me share my music with the whole of the country and the world. Much love to everyone who tuned into the show, and thank you thank you thank you to those who texted in such wonderful messages! You guys are awesome!

As previously mentioned, tomorrow I'll be performing at RJ Society of Music's event at Tiendesitas, People's Village. The show/concert will showcase amazing talent from the local scene from 3PM-7PM so if you're free, come on down, bring some friends and join us for an afternoon of music and fun! :)

#thisismylife So apparently I was on TV yesterday afternoon ;p

Was a guest on yesterday's edition of Global News Network's The Workplace, which aired live on Channel 8 Destiny Cable and Channel 1 on Gsat.

The first photo shows me and with the show's lovely host, Marybeth Nave on the feed, the second and third are of the two of us and a member of the crew just as we were setting up Rufio for the soundcheck. The fourth and fifth photos are from the actual show itself, during one of my performances and then during talk-segment where MB and I talked about my experience as an independent artist and what it means to balance working my day (lol night?) job all the while pursuing my passion.

The last two pictures are bonus shenanigans from the set: hanging with the girls -- host Marybeth Nave, Angel Bombarda and travel blogger/"Sole Sister" Lois Yasay who you can check out over here; and yep, that's me and Angel checking out the new Avengers movie trailer which Flipgeeks Tony Tuason and Earl Maghirang introduced for their segment (no, I have no shame the preview was on the monitor on the floor and I had to get a better look).

It was a really great experience and not at all nerve-wracking. :) Thank you again to Marybeth for having me over and thank you to the whole team over at GNN for making my first ever TV guesting a great one! --N.

it's a bit surreal to think that it's now officially christmas eve. later i'll be helping my mom prepare noche buena for the whole family. my youngest brother requested kare-kare and apparently, baked chicken, potato salad and fruit salad are dishes that are also on the list.

i have no idea how these are supposed to match rofl.

anyway. i came home from last minute christmas shopping with rika about four hours ago and am still very much wide awake putting the final touches on presents before wrapping them up.

i just have to say this: 2011, you went by, really fast. but you know what? i don't mind.

a lot went on this year. i met new people, got back in touch with others who i'd fallen out of sync with, and found that there is nothing quite like strengthening the ties i already have. i learned that crying isn't always a bad thing -- like mags said: sometimes tears are a way for the heart to breathe again; i rediscovered hope and faith and a peace that sits inside of me, that dances on my fingertips while i move these over the keys. and most importantly? i found the strength to hang onto a little bit of that thing called "believing". it's harder to do on some days, but not too hard as a whole.

so before i go back to christmas wrapper and playing kuraki mai's "winter bells" on loop while i maneuver scotch tape and post-it notes in place of gift tags, i just want to say: thank you. i haven't had a christmas quite like this in awhile.
