Nogitsune!Peter and Sorcerer Stiles
Peter Hale wasn't born a werewolf. But what he did have was a spark of magic.
Talia, after becoming an alpha, became increasingly unstable (like her father before her, like his father before him, and so on and so on, up to Patrick Hale who courted a witch and broke her heart, and who cursed his line (his alpha power) to be as untrustworthy and prone to betrayal, intentional or not, as he was). After some time, Talia, in her paranoia, became sure that Peter was plotting against her. To become a wolf, and steal her rightful place as an Alpha Hale for himself. And, with enigmatic Emissary Deaton whispering to her ears and holding her confidence and counsel, she decided to end the threat with her pack (and Deaton, the deceitful (darach) druid that he was) benefitting the most. And so Talia and Deaton sacrificed Peter to the Nemeton (magical human born to an alpha pair, a worthy sacrifice indeed). After Peter's... donation, Talia did become more powerful. She achieved full shift, and became a respected (feared, vicious, half-feral madwoman) alpha in the U.S. But she brought a curse upon herself that hastened the already existing one. The end result was the Hale Pack being burnt to cinders by deceitful Huntress even if they were innocent ( threats, too powerful, too stable pack, the Alpha slowly losing control of herself but no evidence existing). After Peter died, it was not the end of him. Tethered to the Nemeton, he became a spirit (sustenance, slave) and met the Nogitsune (almost faded, full of rage, need for vengeance, weakweakweak), the first sacrifice made by kin-betrayer kitsune (with whispers from the dark druid in her ears, afraid of the power she called upon for her revenge). The Void, driven mad by the decades of pain, of loneliness, of being drained, attacked the newly-formed spirit of Peter Hale, half-trained witch (there are some secrets he didn't feel like sharing with family, afterall). After fighting it out for an aeon (a blink, an eternity), Peter bested the Void, and... merged with it, for the lack of better expression. He assimilated what little power the black fox had left, and gained access to some (not enough, never enough, always hungry for more) of it's knowledge and experience. And so, the Peter-who-is-Nogitsune-who-is-Peter, until neither is sure where one ends and the other begins, bides his time (chance, there is always an opportunity somewhere, sometime) to freedom. Fast forward some years, and Stiles has his introduction to the supernatural. Scott's life changes when Laura Hale comes back from New York to rebuild (reclaim, she needs more power if she is ever to surpass her (insane, paranoid) deceased mother), meets the girl of his dreams and a new (wolf)brother, makes friends, becomes popular and all but forgets Stiles while embracing his new life. Stiles is excluded (mocked, bullied, driven away, unwanted) from the pack's adventures (but he is far from stupid, and Google is his bitch, alpha-bitch), up until the Darach kidnaps the Sheriff to be used as a sacrifice, and Stiles finds out about the plan to save Scott's mom and Allison's dad (but not his, he wasn't even told about it, he stumbled upon the answer on his own, what the actual fuck, Scott!) from being sacrificed. And he forces himself into the plan. But, he doesn't have an anchor, someone he trusts to pull him out of the darkness and such, leaves himself open. And Peter... Peter has never been one to let an opportunity to pass. Especially one so juicy. A desperate, untrained (vulnerable) Spark. Peter ties part of himself to the boy and appears to him when he is the most lonely, most in need of company, of someone to talk to, to share his knowledge, to just be there when no one else is. And so start the adventures of Stiles the Mage and his familiar, Peter the Nogitsune.
