Open Submissions for Voices Compilation
Submissions are still open for July's 'Voices' Comp. The voices compilation (to be titled once all submissions are in) will use songs written using ONLY sounds made by the human voice. This means no oscillators, no traditional synths or instruments, etc. Of course any and all effects, manipulations, modifications and resynthesis are both permitted and encouraged. We'd like little to no actual words or singing, but if it's particularly relevant to the rest of your piece then go for it. All songs should be unique to this release (meaning written for, and released specifically on this compilation and not on any prior release), and should not exceed 20 minutes in length. We will accept ALL submissions that have followed the guidelines, but we're looking for no less than 10-12 pieces for the release. Please have submissions in by June 23, 2012. Any emails regarding this release (submissions, questions, comments, concerns) should contain the words 'Voices Comp' in the subject and can be directed to [email protected] Important! File names should please use the following format: Comp Title or Description: Artist/Band Name: Country of Origin: Song Title for further info on this, and all other WW releases please visit: http://waxenwings.theicarusdescent.com http://waxenwings.theicarusdescent.com/releases.html or http://www.facebook.com/pages/Waxen-Wings/332062253500549

Looking for Digital Artists
I'm looking for people who work in digital visuals. Looking to push the limits for artwork for digital album releases on ambient/drone/noise/soundscape label Waxen Wings. Anybody do any image or video 'bending' or glitching? Any generative art? Also, DEFINITELY looking for a short (30 minutes) horror film for an upcoming project. But must have NO music yet. Preferably a silent horror, but doesn't HAVE to be. Artwork will be ongoing, running projects, film will be for something released on Halloween, but the film (again minus music) must be complete by August. Please contact me if in any way interested, and also PLEASE pass this along if you know somebody who might be. Thanks!

Seeking Submissions for Noise Compilations
I've started a new net label called Waxen Wings dedicated to releasing noise compilations in various styles with various themes and concepts. I'm accepting submissions for 2 separate comps right now, the first being themed, the second being a general, non-themed release.
The theme for the first (which was decided upon by the first few participants on the comp) is 'How it's hard to hear people from far away' with a secondary challenge aspect of 'how small they look' from so far away. I think depending on where people take this idea, it could be very interesting. the submission deadline for this release has been extended to March 10th.
The deadline for the non-themed release is also March 10.
Anybody and everybody is welcome to participate regardless of exact style or sound. Submissions can be emailed to me directly at [email protected]
There is also a website and facebook for the label:
