a thing about book!gurathin is that secunit's dislike/distrust of him is sort of misplaced? gurathin outed it as rogue and told the presaux team its chosen name and now secunit's mad at him forever, but gurathin was literally just doing his best to protect his humans. it's pretty clear that after mensah decides secunit is safe to trust, gurathin follows her even if he doesn't agree, and only asks questions to secunit to understand it better, and reassure himself his friends aren't in danger.

he comes across (to me) as calm, reserved, and trustworthy, and another character like him is... mensah. whom secunit adores. the main difference being that mensah noticed secunit was still following orders and decided it meant it was good, and gurathin decided it wasn't enough proof to decide to trust it

#secunit reads emotionally immature often and it's very interesting and realistic #its dislike of gurathin is almost like a teen deciding someone slighted them once and now they're the worst #which makes sense! at that point it's only been thinking independently for like four years maybe #and not really allowed to act on its feelings either #so emotional immaturity makes sense #later on gurathin goes along with its plans with only a bit of sighing #and i haven't even wrapped my mind around the augmented human being the most distrustful of a construct... fascinating characters #anyhow #just thinking out loud while waiting for my meds to kick in #noise.txt #this is only abt book!gurathin #show!gurathin is a drowned rat #and i love him for it #anyhow anyhow
