(NoiseTheorem)
Performance test in preparation for concert to be played in January. This piece focuses on using the full modular and starts with a single oscillator building the performance. Also featured is the Roland TR8
A quick demo track. This is going to be one track in a larger composition, but I wanted to share it as a testament to what the PEK can do if you don't think about it linearly. This is 100% unprocessed PolyEvolver.
A return to broadcasting after a nearly 2 month hiatus! This one was put together from parts of an unfinished piece that I am currently putting together. I didn't have much time to prepare and find bits for the iPad, so it was left out of this performance. Also, anyone who doubts the PolyEvolver should listen to the second completely improvised pad piece at the end. I just improvised that, but I think Ill have to go back and record it proper. You can find more of my music at http://noisetheorem.bandcamp.com and http://www.soundcloud.com/noisetheorem. Please follow me on FaceBook (http://www.facebook.com/noisetheorem) and Twitter (@noisetheorem) to be kept up to date on future broadcasts
A quick meditative drone/ambient demo. This was written and mixed with minimal edits. I am playing the Aurturia Origin synthesizer while my friend David Harks is playing his guitar through the Fractal Audio Axe FX. This track stands out as both a collaboration and as a track where the modular didn't make it into the demo (though I have some ideas if we should carry the collaboration further).
Modular experimentation using a chaotic generator (Elby ChaQuO) and Sample/Hold (Sport Modulator) to generate sequences instead of using traditional sequencers. Lots of other things going in the patch with knob tweaks by myself as well. I was reading an article about Self Organizing Systems on wikipedia as I was working. You can find more of my finished work on BandCamp at http://noisetheorem.bandcamp.com
This was a patch done as a collaboration between myself and my almost 4 year old. Title was his suggestion. Modules used: Piston Honda, MMG, NoiseRing, PEG, Sport Modulator, Vulcan Modulator, uLFO, Pittsburgh Filter and Modcan DualWave.
