Does anybody else find themselves discouraged over how hard it is to find like minded childfree people?

I’m 32, my two most serious relationships (including one engagement) ended because the men I had relationships with finally decided that me not wanting kids was a deal breaker. One after 5 years, one after 2. I’m single. I want to travel and spend my money the ways that I want. I don’t want children. And honestly, babies make me nauseous.

I don’t know if babies make me nauseous because I find it disturbing how people fawn over them when they’re just going to be screaming demons until they become functional adults who will probably suck anyway, or because they’re screaming disgusting and sticky demons who just suck more and more as they get older.

I don’t like babies, I don’t like children. Hell I really don’t like people. I just like animals. But it’s just frustrating to never be able to find like minded people who also want a childfree life.

It’s like everyone is blinded by this stupid societal norm that getting married and popping out humans you can’t afford is truly the best life to live.

Everyone my age has had kids at this point.

ONE of those women looks fantastic and worked her ass off to get her body back after three kids.

The rest are massive and just keep getting bigger and complaining about how motherhood ruined them. You’re right. It did ruin you. You’re massive and look like you’ve been hit by a truck every damn day. And the fact that you’re now a miserable fucking beast doesn’t help.

Hormones are some crazy shit. Can you imagine something strong enough to trick your brain into looking at a newborn baby and thinking, “my god that’s beautiful.” Instead of, “Jesus Christ it looks like a deformed potato-alien hybrid!”

Because fuck that noise. They ALL LOOK LIKE ALIEN POTATOES!

People always say, “Oh well when you see your man with a baby, it’ll start your biological clock ticking and you’ll melt inside and you’ll realize you can’t wait to see him with YOUR baby.” 

Apparently the inappropriate response is telling them that seeing a grown ass man with a human baby is physically and visually repulsive to me, emasculates him in my mind, and is a complete and utter turn off. It puts my appetite off for a week and makes me want to vomit. Men with babies is not cute. It’s as gross as women fawning over babies. 

Puppies, however. Puppies are totally fine and THAT is enough to make my heart melt.

When people say to me, "you were a kid once, how can you hate kids?" Easy. I hated them when I WAS a kid. I had my friends, and everyone else was too much for me. I wanted quiet. I wanted to read, I wanted to be alone with my animals. I hated kids when I WAS a kid. And, "Well aren't you glad your mother didn't decide that SHE didn't want children?" Not necessarily. For one thing, if she had, I wouldn't have known about it. If I had been aborted, I would be non existent. And due to severe depression, anxiety, and other lovely mental health issues that have been passed down through my oh so stellar genetics, there have been many many days in my life where I've wished for death. So yeah, I'm grateful I'm alive, but if I wasn't... well... that would kind of just be that. If I had never existed, it wouldn't don't matter. Also, "who's going to take care of you when you get old.?" THE FUCK is that reasoning all about? You're having kids just so someone takes care of you when you're old as shit?! News flash, folks. I'll be in the same nursing home that your kids are going to drop you at and leave you. Oh and, "who's going to plan your funeral and bury you?!" Literally who gives a shit? I'll be dead. I don't think I'll be worrying about my funeral.

Someone asked me today why I wear my childfree status like a badge. Well why not? Parents wear their offspring like a badge? The thing they're most proud of. It's all they talk about, all they care about. And no matter what the conversation is that's their only talking point. So why can't I wear my childfree stance like a badge? Why can't I talk about why I'll never want them? Why is my life choice offending you so badly? And also, I just really sincerely enjoy pissing people off with things that they shouldn't care about 💁🏼

Getting an IUD before going for a tubal because I'm terrified of anesthesia. My upside for trying an iud? "At least if I get pregnant the odds of dying or becoming infertile are higher than having a viable pregnancy." I've suddenly realized I would rather suffer a medical emergency or risk death than get fucking pregnant. Tell me again how I'll change my mind?
