Though there'd been an undeniable shift in their relationship, work had proven to be business as usual. Something of a relief that aside from the more frequent moments of temptation they'd mostly managed to fall back in their usual patterns. A successful court hearing had her adrenaline going, already flicking through their diary to figure out if they could squeeze another client in. "So, I'm thinking if we push that meeting we've got with the larceny case to next week, we should be able to fit in that DUI who's waited until the last minute to lawyer up." The logistics made sense to her and yet she got nothing in response from Nolan, glancing at him from the corner of her eye before she tested him. Or maybe closer to goading. "Yes, CC. What a great idea, CC. You're doing an amazing job, CC." She waited a beat, fully expecting some smart response back from him but none came and so her ire only kindled. Leaning forward she tried to catch his eye, voice sharpening with displeasure that she'd yet to gain his attention. "Are you listening to me?"
