Zuko could see the concern in the Avatar’s face, but there was no time for hesitation as the Dai Li moved in closer. “No,” he said, fire simmering beneath the surface of his voice. “We get out of this together. If you try to—” His words cut off as a soldier lunged. Zuko pivoted, unleashing a controlled burst of flame, the heat scorching the air and forcing the soldier back.
“Keep moving,” Zuko urged, “We're going to have to get through this together. Like we did at Pohuai.” And with that, he pressed forward, ready to fight side by side with the Avatar to carve a path to safety.
