Well I'm finally up. Dang. Yesterday did hit me pretty hard but I'm feeling a little better. 5pm and just getting up to get something to eat. Still feel wore out but I'll be ok. That shot and a busy day just made the old bod work itself double time. I'm sure I look it. But I'm feeling like a sorry sack o taters at the moment. Had to see the doc today and got my flu shot like I do every year. I've felt side effects before but I guess since I was trying to fix my truck the other day I already felt a little sore and wore out. But right now it's hitting me pretty hard. I know it's a guy thing when we get sick most of us turn into big babies. I'm on the verge of crying like a big baby if it gets any worse lol. I was trying to just get to sleep and sleep it of but my body hurts to much. I'm sure I'll probably be better by tomorrow. Mothers without Mothers - Steady Mama

Unfortunately life is not perfect. Not everyone has involved family or maybe trajedy struck and forced the circumstance. Either way there is a certain type of grief a woman feels when she doesn’t have a mother to lean on as she navigates parenthood. Mothering is one of the most beautiful and magical things in the world, it is also one of the most challenging and unrelenting things you could ever experience. I imagine this feeling lasts until, well, death. Not having that mother to call and cry to and ask for advice is sad and unfortunate. Having to navigate the new chapter of motherhood alone is hard. These women are warriors who are stronger than they realize. They don’t have someone to sit with their baby when she won’t stop crying or reassure them that they are doing the right thing. They don’t have the support and encouragement that makes motherhood slightly easier. Hopefully these women have that one incredible friend, aunt, or mother-in-law that will step in and pick up the slack or will give the hugs, accolades, and advice. Kids are HARD. They cry and bite and scream and runaway and don’t sleep like normal humans. Of course parents need help! This stuff is not the faint of heart! Don’t be ashamed to reach out to that friend or loved one for help. Whether you need to vent or ask for help, do it! No one knows everything. Kids change so much that once you think you have it down they switch gears. Ugh! So if you are doing it without that Mom you long for, whether they are gone or just not who they should be, I see you. I see you holding in the tears and clenching your fists and giving the extra hugs to your kids because you really needed that hug. I see you. I see you and you are doing a great job.

冬の手仕事じかん . . 1月23日 @nomama_weaving さんの織りのワークショップ 『お気に召すまま』に参加させていただいて 楽しい楽しい1日を過ごしました。 皆さんと愉快なおしゃべりに花を咲かせつつ 美味しいおやつを味わいつつの機織り 時折それぞれ黙々と無心に織る静かな時間 まさにご褒美のような1日。 . 他の方が織る作品を見られるのも楽しみのひとつで 自分では思いつかないようなアイデアや色合わせに毎回感動します。 今日もまた素敵な作品が次々織られているんだろうなーと思うと 毎日でも見に行きたいくらいです！ . わたしが織ったのは アトリエ倭 @atelier_yamato_ さんにこれから作っていただく 「ものつくりのひとのためのスツール」の 座面に張っていただくための布です。 長い時間を一緒に過ごす縫い仕事用の椅子として 情熱を持って向き合えるようにと赤い糸を選んで織りました。 日本橋丸善で開催中の「木の匠展」へ出展されているところに さっそく織り上がった布をお届けしてきました。 出来上がりをのんびりわくわく待つのもまた楽しいじかんです。 … #nomama #織り #織りワークショップ #workshop #weaving #アトリエ倭 #ものつくりのひとのためのスツール https://www.instagram.com/p/BtC6-FAHbtO/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1pnr9tjuyjptq
