Cuba between Two Realities: What Happened and Did Not Happen On 15N

For the past month, a small opposition group on the island and the Miami far-right-wing with the unabashed support of Joe Biden’s administration wanted to turn November 15 into a day of fear, like the one we all felt on July 11. They wanted the parents of all those children who returned to the classrooms to fear for their safety. They wanted Cuba to wake up dressed in white, but none of this happened.

“The expectations of those abroad were not fulfilled. They stayed dressed for that party that never happened,” Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on a broadcasted message. The script of this piece was not good, and the staging was worse, he added.

Women’s Int’l Democratic Federation: End the U.S. blockade against Cuba! #NoMasBloqueo

The Women’s International Democratic Federation Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean calls on women’s organizations throughout the world, as well as international public opinion, to speak out against this new, brutal and infamous outrage against Cuba with strong solidarity actions that demonstrate recognition of Cuba’s efforts and resistance to the frequent and unsuccessful onslaught of the imperialist power against this enterprising country.

We also urge them to remain alert to the actions of the counter-revolution in the countries, which are being unscrupulously demanded by the current U.S. government and its acolytes, and financed with U.S. taxpayers’ money.

Con el dinero que gana limpiando casas en la mañana y una oficina en la noche, Virgen Elena Pupo, migrante cubana de 47 años, ha logrado sacar adelante a su familia en Washington DC, pero no ha podido ayudar a sus padres en Holguín, separada de ellos por más de 2 mil kilómetros. A la ciudad del noroeste de Cuba, golpeada en estos días con el incremento de casos de Covid-19, no llegan ni vuelos ni remesas de Estados Unidos por las políticas de Donald Trump que ha mantenido Joe Biden.

Imagínese un país que desarrolla y produce sus propias vacunas contra el virus Covid-19, suficientes para cubrir a toda su población, pero no puede inocular a todos por falta de jeringas. Esta situación absurda es real y pronto la enfrentará Cuba Cuba ha ya vacunó a unos 2 millones de sus 11 millones de habitantes y espera tener el 70% de la población vacunada en agosto. No tiene mucho sentido que un país tan avanzado en biotecnología y productos farmacéuticos tenga problemas para almacenar jeringas. Esta realidad es consecuencia de lo que constituye una guerra económica en Estados Unidos, que dificulta enormemente a Cuba la adquisición de medicinas, equipos y suministros de vendedores o transportistas que hacen negocios en Estados Unidos o con ellos.

Cuba presents report on impact of U.S. blockade this past year

The United States must, without any conditions whatsoever, put an end to the unjust blockade which for nearly 60 years has caused the Cuban people suffering

Cuba’s Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, offers a press conference today to present the country’s report to the General Assembly outlining the full impact of the U.S. blockade over this last year

The meeting with national and foreign media is being broadcast live on the Ministry’s YouTube channel and the Cubaminrex Facebook page.The resolution entitled “The need to end the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba” will be presented for the 28th time to the United Nations General Assembly, where the international community has repeatedly expressed its support for the island and condemnation of the hostile U.S. policy.
