Stick with me on this for just a sec. There was this guy, his name was Thorne Peters, he got superf*cked by the cops over c*nnabis and he and his wife became activists about it with the argument of no mens rea. "Mens Rea" is a legal term meaning "guilty mind"- as in guilty of intent to commit a dangerous or harmful act. For something to be a crime, there has to be an intent to harm and an injured party.
This guy blew up for a minute. His house was a smoke party cave in TN and he was regularly shooting livecasts on FB of him smoking w**d and talking about why it shouldn't be illegal, and a lot of people were watching him and supporting him. He had taken his case to court when he got got again, and he got off, and other people started fighting cannabis possession charges with the defense of no mens rea, and they were coming back with stories of getting off without punishment as well... the judge would just hold them until after court bc they didn't want everyone to see.
The law eventually got Thorne. He was making waves and loud about it. They put him away and shortly after, he died of "mysterious" causes. It was very sad that they felt the need to kill him to silence him.
The point here however, if it isn't obvious, is that drag isn't a crime. Being trans isn't a crime. Neither carry intent or harm or any actual harm. If you have to fight it in court, maybe remember #nomensrea
