Clan interaction questions: 2-14 evens only!
*pats your face* thanks for askiiing !!
2. What sort of things does your clan look for in potential allies? In this case I mean general attitude and moral code.
The Stardust Wanderers usually look more for trade partners and clans that could host them while they stay in a particular place for long than allies to help them in case something happens, as they are more of a guild than a clan. As long as they aren’t going around and murdering people all around, they’re fine. They don’t like those who have an extremely strict moral code either; Wind dragons like their freedom. But they don’t have any proper “allies”, its more friends they’ve made along the way, and contacts !
4. How famous would you say your clan is in the local area? In their flight? In all of Sornieth
(This is obviously only headcanons so bear with me :T)
Their base camp is situated in a pretty densely-populated area, and they interact a lot with their neighbors, everyone knows their name. Around the Wind Flight, they are a pretty well-established guild of travelers/explorers. Its not rare that people have heard their names. As for the whole world, peeps in Arcane who are into magic researches mostly know about Moeken for his works, and some people may have heard their names because of interactions/connexions with certain clan members.
6. Is there some sort of service/items that only your clan can provide? How valuable is it? Does it cause a lot of problems (from invaders, thieves, raving bands of longnecks, etc.)?
The clan as a whole doesn’t have anything special to provide, except good escort services if you want to travel. You would want to ask specific clan members if you wanted special things, and even then, it is probably not related to the clan. None of these activities caused considerable problems... yet. <:
8. How are alliances formed with other clans?
They prefer to call alliances “partnerships”. When one is to be established, Adara, the clan leader, would meet the other clan (or welcome them in their camp) to discuss the mutual benefits such an alliance could provide. They establish the terms of the partnership, to be signed by both clan leaders and other parties, if that applies. Official partnerships are extremely rare though; they are more often made casually, when groups of travelers meet other clans. Since the guild is scattered across Sornieth, it is not rare that a clan is familiar with some of its member but doesn’t know a thing about the other ones, or never even met its leader, even if they’d recognize their emblem. Karal, Moeken and Sudhirka have free access to the Owlish Island, for example, but other members would have a hard time even being let near it.
10. How “chummy” is your clan with its allies? Do they like to keep them at arm’s length or are they considered “part of the family”, so to speak?
Well, as I said, it really depends on which groups made alliances with whom and what they do together. Back in Arcane they had really close ties with nearby clans, but as they grew, it became rarer and rarer. Close ties between groups of dragons from the guild and other clans, yes. Between the guild and other clans, no.
12. How active is your clan’s search for allies?
Non-existent. Other clans come to them, or the circumstances will lead to a partnership, but they don’t search for allies.
14. A member of your clan has ran afoul of a friendly clan. How would you prefer they be dealt with; by your laws or their’s? How would you deal with the reverse situation?
That would need to be treated on a case-by-case basis, but if the other clan’s laws seem fair, they’ll have it dealt by the other clan. Their territory, their laws. In the reverse case, the offending dragon would most often be dealt with by the guild’s laws.
