#NomzeeDay ... this is my 2nd all time favorite piece by #NormMaxwell (@normmaxwellstudio).. I can never remember the name but everything about this speaks power to me. From the abstraction of the #flag to #bandana and curlers on the woman's head. This made me think of single black mothers in the inner cities that do what they have to to see their children to success. It often reminds me of my mother. Strong, innovative, loving with survival skills like an African lion. Everything about this speaks to the strength of the black woman. You see those red, white and blue rollers though? On this morning #Nomzee called me like "Yo! What you doing? Get up and come with me to shoot this mural in Burbank..." of course my answer was "Bet, when you ready?" .. We went up to this private building, let in by a guard and then proceeded to see these massive artworks that Norm has in this private corporate collection. I walk in and go "WTF! How did I not know about this!?".. he says "Well, you know now!
