Like yeah, haha, you're very meta. Nobody's ever thought of mocking their audience for expecting a satisfying ending before. And yeah, that's part of the humor, but that wasn't funny it was just mean spirited. It wasn't cheeky. It felt like the writers getting sincerely defensive about the fact that they didn't write a finale. "Well you can't criticize it cus if you do you're DUMB and GULLIBLE"

Destiel was obviously a shitty compromise between people who wanted to appease their audience with a destiel endgame and people who wanted to appease their audience with a straight endgame, and ended up pleasing neither. Wwdits was a competition between writers to see who could come up with the rudest ending possible and I'm not kidding. If you absolutely have to watch it, don't bother with the finale.
